Luther ‘Tom’ Cox
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
GHENT — Luther “Tom” Cox, of Ghent, went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2013, surrounded by those who loved him deeply.
Born May 8, 1929, in Summers County, he was the son of the late Wilbert Nelson and Lura Susie Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Imogene Basham Cox; son, Thomas David Cox Sr.; brothers, Fred Cox, Cecil Cox, Brady Cox, Woodrow Cox, James Cox and Clinton Cox; sisters, Linnie Wills, Lottie Farley, Lona Lilly and Lola Basham.
Mr. Cox was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Bluestone Primitive Baptist Church and spent his life serving the Lord. He completed medical training courses and worked in the community, placing others’ needs above his own. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and had a special smile that could brighten the worst of days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Lena Pauley and husband, Charles, of Saltville, Va.; daughter-in-law, Trina Jo Cox of Daniels; grandchildren, Thomas Dickerson and his wife Terressa, Pamela Steiding and her companion David Weiss, Richard Dickerson and his wife Angela, Thomas David Cox Jr., Melissa Lusk and Jonathon Cox; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Meadows and wife Morgan, Zachary “Joab” Steiding, Nathaniel Steiding, Thomas Dickerson Jr., Greg Dickerson, Christopher Lusk, Robert Lusk, Makayla Dickerson and Alexis Lusk; great-great-grandson, Brantley Meadows; special brother-in-law, Cecil Basham; sisters-in-law, Amalee Basham, Irene Basham and Claris Cox; many special nephews and nieces that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, WV, with Warren Shrewsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Lilly Cemetery in Ghent. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Cox Jr., Jeffrey Meadows, Zachary Steiding, Nathaniel Steiding, Thomas Dickerson Jr. and David Weiss.
His life is a beautiful memory, His death is a silent grief, He now sleeps in God’s beautiful garden, In sunshine of perfect peace, We will miss him so much, But realize God knows best, He let us have him many years, Then gently bid him rest. Papaw, We love you more.

Jacquelyn Hagerman, 93, of Beckley, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.

Albert T. Shuck
Associate Pastor Albert Theodore Shuck, age 52, of Christ Like Worship Center went home to be with the Lord at 1:26 p.m. on Sept. 12th. After a 3 1/2-week illness at RGH he received complete healing and deliverance.
He was preceded by both parents. Theodore Everett Shuck passed in May 1963, and Betty Jane Shuck Long passed in Jan. 2010.
He was survived by his wife Pamela Shuck of Beckley, WV, daughter Mary “Amy” Leddick of Nevada, and three sons Abraham, Zechariah, and Joseph Reuben Shuck all of Beckley, WV. He was also survived by sisters: Marsha Harding of Rudhard, Montana, Missionary Bonnie Rudolph of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Beverly Long of Westwood, California, Leila Tomingo of Dallas, Texas; brother Pastor Michael Shuck of Whiplash, Montana; and 1/2 brother Leonard Coburn of San Diego, California. He was also survived by 34 nieces and nephews.
He lived every day in pain, but continued working in the church witnessing and disciplining children of all walks of life. He led thousands of children to Christ, one life at a time. Thou good and faithful servant, you completed your work. Enter into your reward!
There will be a memorial service at Family Worship Center 224 Pinewood Drive, Beckley, Sunday, Sept. 22nd, at 4 p.m., with a celebration of passing after the service.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Argie Ray Smith, 83, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013.

DOTHAN — Rhonda Gail Massey Walker, 47, of Dothan, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013.

Ezra Calvin Williams
Calvin Williams, 88, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a short illness.
Calvin was born November 9, 1924, at Kilsyth, W.Va., a son of the late George A. and Sadie Ollie Williams.
Calvin worked for 39 years mining coal, he was active in all things with the Union, he was financial secretary of Local Union 1123 for over 30 years. He was Secretary of Marfork Burial Fund.
Calvin was founder, member and deacon of The Full Gospel Community Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Rexall, Manuel and Jack; four sisters, Donnie, Velva, Alma and Zona; and his son, Calvin Alfred Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Kathyrn Jean Stewart Williams; children: Ronnie Gene Williams and his wife, Lyndia, of Beckley, Brenda Lou Henderson and husband, Richard, of Whitesville, Raymond Michael Williams of Heaters, WV, Deanna Doris (Williams) Richmond of Bolt, WV, Randall Eugene Pettry and wife, Pam, of KY, and Terry Lee Daniels and husband Pat of North Carolina; 21 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at the Full Gospel Community Church at Glen Daniel, with Pastor Kenneth Ayers officiating. Singers will be Three Generations.
Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery at Rock Creek.
