On Monday, March 31st, 2014, our most loved, Jessie Acord went to be the with the Lord. She was in her 82nd year of life.
A former resident of Bolt, Jessie had most recently made her home at the Villages of Greystone.
The fourth of five children, Jessie Gay Gunnoe was born on August 3rd, 1931, at Glen Rogers. She was the daughter of the late Glennie Ray and Nora Gunnoe. Her brothers, Ray and Bud have preceded her in death. Jessie’s sisters, Imogene Acord and Susie Salyer survive her.
Jessie was married to the late Johnnie C. Acord. To their union was born a son, Carl C. Acord who has died and their daughters, Diana Pendergrass and her husband, James, Sherl Grow and her husband, James and Sherry Cline and her husband, Darrell who will forever cherish her memory.
Jessie loved her family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent shopping with her daughters and being with her grandchildren.
Her beloved grandchildren are Kristen Wilson and her husband, Joseph, Cody Acord and his wife, Lindsay, Brandon Grow and his fiance, Zara Almond, Casey Acord and his wife, Kista and Jarod Cline; she was the proud great grandmother of Rylan and Paxton Wilson, Chase and Brody Almond and Camermon and Kinsley Acord.
Jessie’s daughter-in-law, Joyce Acord survives her as well.
Committal services will be Wednesday, April 2nd, at 11 a.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Ronnie Acord will be officiating. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Margie Ellen Neace Allen
JESSE — Margie Ellen Neace Allen, 86, of Jesse, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, following a battle with cancer.
She was born April 16, 192,7 in Dehue in Logan County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank Albert and Ethel Lowe Neace.
Margie was a Christian lady and prayed to her Lord and Savior to take her home when the pain was more than she could bear. She was a gardner and enjoyed working in her flowers. This year she will be planting flowers in a better land.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 1/5 years, Woodrow Wilson Allen; seven sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include a son Craig (Kathy) Allen of Glen Daniels; a granddaughter Amy Allen of Glen Daniels; a sister Ernestine Francis (Andy) Zies of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers Ralph (Donna) Neace of Chicago, Ill., and James (Barbara) Neace of Kistler; special nieces Alice Sue Brown and Doris Marie Arthur both of Mt. Jackson, Va., Rose Morgan of Kistler, Sissy Cook-Lamb and Linda Brown Bryson, both of Oceana; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Heartfelt thanks to extra special friends Kristy and Jeremy Tolliver and James Justice of Big Justice Construction for all you’ve done to help Margie. Thanks to the gravediggers, Jeff Hash and Jeremy Tolliver. Thanks to the pallbearers, Pinelodge Nursing Home, Raleigh General Hospital, and Appalachian Regional Hospital and all their workers.
Also left to grieve her passing are her beloved pets Rover, Trikki, Rose Bud and Twinkle and her cat Skeesiks.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco. She will be laid to rest in Cook Cemetery, Oceana.
Friends may gather with the family from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the funeral home.
