Melissa Jane ‘Janie’ Naylor Walker

FAYETTEVILLE — Melissa Jane “Janie” Naylor Walker, 58, of Fayetteville, put her hand in God’s hand on March 29, 2014.

She was born on January 28, 1956 in Fayette County, W.Va.

Janie was employed by the Fayette County Head Start for 20 years where she touched many lives. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church at Fayette Heights.

Her parents, Damon Cody Naylor and Barbara Ann Webb Naylor, and brother, Stephen Naylor preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Herman Walker; daughter, Megan Walker Tompkins and husband, Andrew of Fayetteville; her only grandchild, Damon Cody Tompkins; sister, Melanie A. Peaslee and husband, Robert of Pulaski, Va.; brother, Mark D. Naylor and wife, Treva of Max Meadows, Va.; five nephews; one niece; cousins; extended family and friends.

We owe the utmost gratitude to Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their  exemplary care, compassion, and kindness they have shown to our family during our time of need.

Our family would like to extend a very special thanks to the hospice nurses, Stephanie Isaacs, Sandy Underwood, and Amy Lanham, and hospice social worker, Amber Willoughby.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church at Fayette Heights with Pastor Justin Seay officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service at the church.

Anna Lee Williams

HINTON — Anna Lee Williams of 1004 Taylor St., Hinton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Summers County A.R.H. Hospital in Hinton after a long illness.

Born at Wickham, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rutherford Hayes and Rosa B. Clay Bragg.

Mrs. Williams was a former clerk at Davis Department Store and Tots & Teens both in Hinton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hinton and the Fidelis Sunday School class.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Wingenroth. Her first husband, Wallace Johnson, her second husband, Franklin Williams, a grandson, Harold Wayne Fox, son-in-law, Harold Fox, eight brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Cook and husband Larry of Beckley and Cathy Johnson of Hinton; nine grandchildren, Bobby Crone, Lisa Price, Barbara Sparks, Rebecca Crone, Greg Crone, Jody Crone, Courtney Leslie, Amy Cook and Lesley Cook; several great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Tilley of Wake Forest, N.C. and care giver, Barbara Fox.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Sonny Angell officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 12 noon until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Doug Trail, Coleman Leslie, Jeff Tilley, Jim Bragg, Jim Reed, Ron Bock and Perry Tilley.

HINTON — Juan Williams, 59, of Hinton, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Matthew Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Esquire Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

WILLIAMSBURG — Joan D. Young, 75, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014.
