ANSTED — Virginia Mary Elliott Bragg, 66, of Russellville Road, Ansted, passed away at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Arval Lee and Lorna Mary Tresa Hoar Elliott.
She was a retired waitress at Gino's and was a member of the Ansted Baptist Church of Ansted.

Before the dawn on the morning of Tuesday March 11, 2014, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, entered the gates of Heaven to abide forever with his Heavenly Father.
Born on September 24, 1928 at Bolt, Kermit Preston Gunnoe was the son of the late Arlie Gunnoe and Maggie Manning Gunnoe.
Mr. Gunnoe was retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the US Army. He was a member of the Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Combs, Irene Lafferty, Thelma Simerly, and by a brother Delmar Gunnoe.
He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Eunice Acord Gunnoe; a son, Danny Gunnoe and his wife Diana of Rock Stream, N.Y., and a daughter Darlene Wright and her husband Jackie of Bolt. Four grandchildren, Adam Wright of Bolt, Melissa Prichard and her husband Caleb of Bolt, Tammy Salvatore and her husband Lee of Dundee, N.Y., and Shawn Gunnoe and his wife Amber of Granite Falls, N.C.; three great-granddaughters, Karsey, Natalee, and Mylee Prichard; five great-grandsons, Cody, Shane, and Logan Salvatore, Ethan Gunnoe and Cooper Durham. Two sisters, Shirley Cox of Harper, and Pauline Payne of Pomeroy, Ohio; two brothers, Arthur Gunnoe of Harper, and Don Gunnoe of Mt. Hope. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dean Adams officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley.
Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Family will serve as pallbearers.

NALLEN — Gail Martin, 51, of Nallen, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home following a long illness.
Gail was born April 7, 1962 in Webster County and was the daughter of the late Larry and Patricia Darlene Clevenger Gearheart.
Gail was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband Jennings Martin of Nallen; one daughter Winona Marie Ward and husband Johnnie of Nallen and one son Donavan Frankln Williams and wife, Heather Leighann of Summersville; three sisters Jeletta Gearheart of Vermont, Debra Geraheart of California and Angela Holly of Nallen; two brothers Larry Gearheart of Vermont and John Woods of Richwood; and two grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted.
By her request her body was cremated.

MINDEN — Ms. Atheller Mae Minnis, 89, of Minden, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 after a short illness.
Born September 2, 1924 in Glen Jean, she was the daughter of the late Warden and Maggie Lavender Minnis.
Ms. Minnis was a domestic and a member of Minden Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mc Villar and Warden “Tom” Minnis; three sisters, Lorene Minnis, Valara Wilson, and Inez Jones; two grandsons, Leslie Rose and John Steven Ferrell Jr.
Left to cherish precious memories are her children John Steven “Ricky” (Patricia) Ferrell of Kileen, Texas and Norma Jean Rose of Minden.
Funeral services will be 12 noon on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Spirit and Truth Ministries, 100 W. Main Street, Oak Hill, with Bishop Sam Calloway and Pastor L. Leo Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge.

Betty Louise Perry
Betty Louise Perry, age 84 of Beaver, W.Va., formerly of Maxwell Hill in Beckley, departed this life on Monday, March 10, 2014. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a generous and loving sister, aunt, and friend.
Betty was a 1947 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She then attended McMillan Hospital School of Nursing in Charleston, W.Va. and graduated in 1950. She then furthered her career and education in nursing, receiving her BSN from Indiana University.
Betty had a passion for the nursing profession and served as a member of the WVNA for many years. She spent most of her career at the Beckley VA Medical Center where she retired as the Associate Chief for Nursing Service in 1985 after giving them over 30 years of dedicated service. She also was active in the NARFE after her retirement.
After leaving the VA Medical Center she continued to share her love for nursing by working with Hospice and as an instructor for the Raleigh County Vocational LPN program.
Known affectionately as “Betty Lou” in her personal life she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Beckley, WV.
Betty is survived by her brother, James H. Perry and his wife Wilma of Maxwell Hill, her niece Leslie Redden and her husband Marlon of Piney View, and her great nieces Lana and Emma Redden. She and Emma were especially close. She is also survived by cousins, Donovan Russell, Susan Stoops, and her family, and Marvin Beall.
Also very dear to her were Gary, Noah, Jane, and Patty Raines, and their spouses and children. Family is not always defined by blood, but rather with the heart. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her, including her little dog Cody.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Don Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, W.Va.
Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Friday.

Danny Ray Snuffer Sr.
Danny Ray Snuffer Sr., age 65, of Beckley, passed away after a long illness to be with the Lord on February 10, 2014 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Danny was born August 21, 1948 in Beckley, son of Hazel G. Snuffer and Herbert Edward Snuffer.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1966 and a 1971 graduate of Morris Harvey College, in Charleston. He was a Board of Director of Wesco Homes, Inc. in Beckley. He also worked from 1968-1977 for American Electric Power Company. In addition, he was employed with Capitol Fuels, Inc. from 1977- 1984 in Charleston. He retired with 14 years of service in Charleston with Peabody Holding Company in 1996. He was an Eagle Scout, and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He was an avid horseman and was involved with the Raleigh County Horseman’s Association, West Virginia Horseman’s Association and the Tennessee walking horse Breeders Association from 1956 to 1972.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife Linda K. Myers Price Suffer, married on September 13, 1993; one son, Danny Ray Snuffer Jr. of Charleston; Linda’s children from her first marriage, whom he considered his own, Christian J. Price and Charles N. Price, both of Palm Springs, Calif., Claude E. Price of Quarter Lane, Idaho, and Philippe T. Price of Florida; one brother, William Edward Snuffer of Beckley; three nephews, William E. Snuffer of Columbus, Ohio; Richard Ray Snuffer of Beaver, Eric Lyle Snuffer of Fayetteville.
The family suggests donations be given to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1154 Dry Hill Rd., Beckley, with Pastor Wayne Nutter officiating.

Christine Tankersley, 86, of Beckley, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 12th 2014.
Born September 15, 1927 in Albany, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John and Belle Stockton Reeder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Mary and Martha and by a brother, William.
Christine was a homemaker and a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Edward; sons Richard Tankersley and wife Talitha and Terry Tankersley and wife Sherry; two grandsons Adam and Steven Tankersley; great-granddaughter Isabelle; and a brother, Herman Reeder.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B with Pastor Wayne Peters officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Kathleen ‘Kitty’ Pinkerton Blackwell Vest
MULLENS – Kathleen “Kitty” Pinkerton Blackwell Vest, 83, of Mullens, passed away on March 9, 2014 at a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
Born, September 15, 1930, at Midkiff, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Pinkerton and Francis Hager Pinkerton.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her first husband James “Tuck” Blackwell and her second husband Earl Vest; a step-daughter, Paula Vest Bangle; and six brothers Jim, Deward, Lyle, Kermit, Howard and Roy Pinkerton; and in-laws Joe Blackwell, Mary Blackwell Coffman England, Myrtle Blackwell Cutright, Peggy Blackwell Stanswick, Eloise Vest Lockhart and Paul Vest; special nephew Steve Roberts and niece Alena Blackwell Short.
Kitty and Tuck lived in Corinne from 1946 to 1965. Kitty worked for Howard Wikel’s Jewelry Store and Bradford Steele Drug. In 1965, she moved to Barboursville after Tuck passed to be close to her family. She lived there for two years and worked at Sears. She then married Earl Vest and moved to Northern Virginia and later to Bunker Hill and Inwood, W.Va., where Kitty worked for a bank and a ladies clothing store. After Earl passed, Kitty moved back to Mullens to be close to her family in 1988. She worked at the Public Library and the Wyoming County Council on Aging. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the Mullens United Methodist Church, Adult Bible Class and the Women’s Circle; cooking and working crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and loved to watch ice skating, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Frank “Bucky” Blackwell and wife Trudy of Mullens; one step-daughter Carla Vest Milor and husband Howard of Middletown, Md.; one step son-in-law Bob Bangle of Newbern, N.C.; one sister Reba Roberts of Lancaster, Pa.; grandchildren, Mark Blackwell of Mullens and Audra Blackwell and husband Matthew Martin of Charleston; step grandchildren Howard Milor III and wife Cheryl of Boonsboro, Md., Scott Milor and wife Nicole of Frankfurt, Germany, Melanie Bangle Vaccaro and husband Daniel of Morehead, N.C. and Jamie Bangle of Chicago, Ill.; special nieces Karen Roberts of Lancaster, Pa. and Patricia Roberts Brennen and husband Marc of Sacramento, Calif., Melanie Blackwell Klaiber of Bluefield, Va. and Judy Blackwell Hertler of Lady Lakes, Fla.; and sister-in-laws Betty Blackwell and Conita Pinkerton a special friend of Ravenswood, W.Va.; special nephew Burl Coffman and nieces Sherlene and Diane Bishop, all of Princeton, W.Va. and a host of family members and friends.

Born February 24, 1984, she was the daughter of Sandra Dee Lawson and the late Rodger Haines.
Tasha was a loving wife and mother. She loved being outdoors, camping, swimming and being with her children.
In addition to her father, Tasha is preceded in death by her grandparents and may aunts and uncles.

She was born January 21, 1930 at Big Creek, W.Va. Alice was the daughter of the late Edward Kuntz Teubert and Cecilia Lettie McMichen Teubert. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Teubert and Bobby Teubert
Alice was a retired office clerk for Union Carbide and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church of Chimney Corner.
She is survived by a son, Edwin Zackoski II and his wife Sherri; two brothers, Fred Teubert of Lewisburg and Joseph Edward Teubert of Marrietta, Ohio; four grandchildren, Cody, Brendan, Edwin and Eric.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Lovers Leap Baptist Church in Ansted with Pastor Ronald George officiating. Burial will follow in Teubert Cemetery at Big Creek near Chimney corner.
