Carolyn June Osborne

CYCLONE — Carolyn June Osborne, 63, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Roland Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery, Cyclone.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the funeral home.

Marjorie Romano Pollard

CHATHAM BOROUGH, N.J. — Marjorie Pollard (nee Romano), of Chatham Borough, died on Friday, September 28, 2012, at her home in Chatham Borough, she was 89 years old.

Mrs. Pollard was born in Madison, N.J., and lived the last 65 years in Chatham Borough.

Mrs. Pollard was a bookkeeper for a medical practice in Summit, N.J. for several years before she retired 15 years ago. Prior to that she was a bookkeeper for the Shop Rite in Florham Park for over 10 years.

During World War II, Mrs. Pollard worked at Picatinny Arsenal building bombs for the war effort and her unit received a Presidential Citation for their work.

Mrs. Pollard was married, for the last 65 years, to the late Wesley F. Pollard Sr., who just recently passed away on September 16, 2012.

She is survived by her children, Wesley F. Pollard Jr., David W. Pollard; two brothers, Nick Romano, Ron Romano, and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Flynn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation, Wednesday, October 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison, N.J. 07940.

Please omit flowers. Donations to the Chatham Emergency Squad in her memory would be appreciated.

Larry D. Thornton, 52, of Bud passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, at his residence.

Alfred R. Withrow

BROOKLYN, Mich. — Alfred R. Withrow, age 85, of Brooklyn, formerly of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Beckley, passed away September 29, 2012.

Alfred was born April 19, 1927, in Widen, W.Va., the son of John and Annie (Cantrell) Withrow.

Alfred is survived by one daughter,  Kathryn White and her husband Gary Hollis of Brooklyn; three grandchildren, Arlene (Tom) Lindemeyer, Sean White and Elexis (Corey) Sawyer and five great grandchildren, Bradley, Thomas, Zoe, Brayden and Lillian,

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Loretta; son, Arland and grandson, Tony White.

A celebration of his life will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Irish Hills Eagles, Brooklyn, Mich. Military honors will be performed by the Wilber Bartlett American Legion Post No. 315, Brooklyn, Mich.
