Beulah Frances Leslie

HINTON — Beulah Frances Leslie, 87, of Hinton, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

Arrangements are pending completion at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton.

Frank Matics

Murriel Franklin “Frank” Matics, 67, of Lester, WV, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Princeton Community Hospital following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born October 15, 1944, in Abney, WV, Frank was the son of the late Lenora Jane “Johnny” McGraw and Johnny Matics. He was raised by his late stepfather, Bernard McGraw.

Frank was a loving father and husband and the Fire Chief for the Lester Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. He was an avid muscle car enthusiast and a drag racer his entire life.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Earl Ann “Cookie” Matics. He will be sadly missed by their daughter, Missy Walker and her husband, Vernon, of Lester; their son, Jay Matics and his wife, Theresa, of Lester; their granddaughter, Nyah Nicole Matics of Lester; his mother-in-law Aldeen Workman of Lester.

Frank is survived by two sisters, Carol Sue England and her husband, Ernie, of Lester, Virginia Ford of Beckley, four half brothers, John Matics and his wife, Kathy, of Warrenton, VA, Mark Matics and his wife, Lora Lee, of Oak Ridge, NC, Roger Matics and his wife, Lisa, of Mount Hope, WV, Gary Matics and his wife, Eddi, of Meadow Bridge, WV, half sister, Sunda Klimovich and husband, Bill, of Orlando, FL, stepsister Peggy Craig of Beckley, stepbrother Edward McGraw of Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering to celebrate and remember his life at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 4 p.m.

Officiating the memorial service will be Reverend Dale Birchfield and Jim Morgan.
