James Ervin Altice Sr.
OAK HILL — James Ervin Altice Sr., 65, of Oak Hill, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Beckley ARH Hospital.
Born May 19, 1947, at Sun, W.Va., the son of the late William C. Altice Sr. and Nellie Mae (Waddell) Altice.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Johnson; one son James “Jimbo” E. Altice Jr., one brother William “Buddy” Clarence Altice Jr.; five sisters Ebbie, Ella, Ruby, Tootie, and Rayola; and grandson Preston J. Altice.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Mary Beth “Cookie” Altice; four daughters Tina Sue Francisco and husband Bradley of Mt. Hope, Lisa Sue Sadler and husband Jimmy of Daniels, Melissa Ann Stiefer and husband Mark of Coal City, and Tammy Lynn Altice and companion Shawn Johnson of Crab Orchard; stepdaughters Jimelle Dillon of Oak Hill and Tralissa Combs and husband Lee of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
His remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main St., Oak Hill, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday and where the funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. Bryan White officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Danny Hicks, Lee Combs, Bradley Francisco, Danny Jackson, Brandon Remy, Chris Reynolds, Manuel Tiscareno, and Shawn Anderson.

William Jackson Brooks
ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. — William Jackson Brooks, 73, of Rogersville, formerly of White Sulphur Springs, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Fort Springs, with the Rev. Lewis Brooks officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to noon at the funeral home.
Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
