WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Gloria Jean Humphreys, 62, of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.

At Gloria’s request her body was cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date.

Groves Funeral Home in Union is in charge of arrangements.

ANSTED — Judith Elaine Ingram, 70, of Ansted, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.

MOUNT HOPE — Mrs. Lynn K. Knight, 56, of Mount Hope, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at United Missionary Baptist Church, 205 S. Fayette Ave., Mount Hope, with the Rev. Phillip Copney Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pastor John Ed Lilly, 67, of Cool Ridge passed away at home after a short illness. He went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2013.

Born November 26, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert Lilly and Helen Hatcher Lilly of Cool Ridge.

John was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Earlyn Lilly, and sister, Jean Ann Lilly.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Mae Phillips Lilly; two daughters, Jennifer E. Lilly-Muktar, husband AbdelBagi, of Beckley, and Janel Ellen Lilly, of Cool Ridge. John was the proud grandfather of Muktar, Haju, and Ryan Muktar of Beckley. His sister, Thelma Lilly Okes, husband Tom, of Cool Ridge.

John Ed was a coal miner for approximately 10 years in various mines of southern WV. He then became a school bus driver for another 10 years with the Raleigh County Board of Education.

John’s passion was in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. His goal was for all who heard him to come to know his Lord. John was the pastor at Mountain Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Odd, WV, for 20 years. He was currently the pastor at Clifftop Missionary Baptist Church, Beaver, WV, for the last 6 years. His love for his congregation was a prime example of serving the Lord.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013, at Clifftop Baptist Church in Beaver with Mr. Warren Shrewsbury officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday Evening at the church. Burial will follow at the Earlyn Phillips Family Cemetery on Blue Jay Six Road in Cool Ridge. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
