Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Logan, with Father Yesa Golla officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, W.Va.

Kitty Pearl Dingess
Kitty Pearl Dingess, 73, of Whitesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division after a long illness.
Born on May 1, 1940 at Packsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arvil Allen and Myrtle French Allen.
Mrs. Dingess was a homemaker, and a member of the Dorothy Church of God at Dorothy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Paul Dingess, by a sister, Joy Allen Stover.
Survivors include her daughters, Paulal Massey and her husband Steve of Colcord, Judy Stavrakis and her husband Mike of Sylvester; her sons, David and Danny Dingess, both at the home at Whitesville; five brothers, Billy Allen and his wife Martha of Whitesville, Larry Allen and his wife Jean of Colcord, James Allen of Colcord, Johnny Allen of Colcord and Eugene Allen and his wife Lois of Fairdale; three sisters, Agnes White and her husband Benny “Popeye” of Whitesville, Louise Harris and her husband John of Dorothy, Arlene Farley and her husband Mike of Dorothy; eight grandchildren, Dewayne Massey of Huntington, Valerie Massey of Huntington, Sara Massey of Charleston, Aaron Flowers and his wife Camelia of Pettus, Adam Flowers and his wife Amber of Beckley, Christopher Brazwell of Benson, N.C., Jessica Wilson of Raleigh, N.C., Brandon Holsonback and his wife Jessica of Garner, N.C.; 10 great grandchildren, Tori, Chloe, Kylie, Dylan, Reagan, Riley, Aubree, Allie, Chloe and Kennedy.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Dorothy Church of God on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Peters officiating. Burial will follow at the Estep Cemetery at Ameagle, W.Va. Friends may visit at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, and also one hour prior to the services at the church.
Pallbearers will be Adam and Aaron Flowers, Jimmy Dale Austin, Jamie Austin, Ricky Lee White, and “Hotrod” White.

GREEN SULPHUR SPRINGS — Reida Diann Harrah, 55, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at her home.
Born April 6, 1958, at Hinton, she was the daughter of William P. and Eltay L. Fleshman Roach of Green Sulphur Springs.
Redia was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, Memaw and friend and was known for her love of animals, especially cats and hummingbirds. For 36 years she was also a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist, employed at Summers County ARH Hospital in Hinton.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of 32 years, Billy L. Harrah of Green Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Joni D. Harrah of Green Sulphur Springs; a stepson, Billy S. Harrah and wife, Shannon of Layland; two sisters, Phyllis Deeds and husband, Larry of Conway, S.C. and Dorma Roach of Hinton, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Colby and Madison Harrah of Layland, her pride and joy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle with Pastors Bob Meadows and Larry Deeds officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Stacey Loren Lester, 43, of Fort Ashby, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 7, 1969 in Jaeger, W.Va., he was the son of the late Van Buren Lester and Mary Magdalene (Banover) Lester.
He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Brian Keith Lester.
Stacey had worked at the Clary Street Center. More recently, he attended the Sycamore Run Workshop.
Survivors include his sisters, Sheila Lynn Mullin and Robin Darlene Lester; a brother, Van Louis Lester and a niece, Tina Renee Shawver and husband Jeremy.
Visitation at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, on Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 5 p.m.

AMIGO — Hollie Ray McKinney, 49, of Amigo, passed away on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at his residence following a long illness.

Lacy Howard Milam
On Thursday, October 31, 2013, Lacy Howard Milam, passed away at Bowers Hospice House.
Born at Allen Creek on February 25, 1933, he was the oldest son of William Lundy Milam and Hulda L. Milam. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Sgt. Danny Milam in 1986 and two daughters, Ann in 1962 and Brenda Starr in 1963, also a grandson, Brenton Andrew in 2008. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Verlon Edward and Arlie Steven (Joe) and a sister, Macie Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Millsaps Milam; three sons, Ray and William (Bill) and his companion Joan all of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Kenneth and his wife Amanda of Tampa, Fla. Other survivors are his six brothers, Jimhazel, William, Carl, David, Morris and Ernie; four sisters, Etta Bell, Cora, Dolly and Bessie Jane; grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica, Brian and Brandon; six great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Erica Patrick and special friends, Frank and Karen Bowers, Russell and Sherry Patrick.
A Marine, Lacy served during the Korean Conflict where he attained the rank of Sgt. He worked in the coal mines for 38 1/2 years having last worked for Peabody Coal at the Wharton 4 Mine. An avid outdoorsman, Lacy loved to hunt and fish but he also enjoyed crafts. His special favorite was woodworking.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
There will be a viewing at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel, 5434 Old Birmingham Highway, Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 and he will be laid to rest at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with full military honors.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Virginia Mae Miller 74, of Nashville, formerly of Mount Hope, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, November 2, 2013, following a long illness.
Born February 2, 1939 in Summerlee, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents William and Virginia Halliwell and her parents Ray and Elizabeth Arthur. Her daughters Karra Kay and Nancy Lynn. Her sister Wanda Vance and her brother James Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughters, Brian Miller, Victor Halliwell, Jenorra Morgan, Karla Chandler; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her two sisters Betty Pauley, Victoria Boggess and her brother Glenn Harris and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Brian Scott Stover, 38, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013.
Born October 24, 1975 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Lacy Stover and Veda (Ferroro) Stover Gravley of Beckley.
Scotty attended Breckenridge Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Theodore and Laura Ferroro and paternal grandparents Alfred and Helen Stover.
Left to cherish his memory are sons Jarred Stover of Shady Springs, Jacob Stover and Cameron Stover of Oak Hill; brothers Teddy Stover and companion Amy Elkins of Beckley and Anthony Stover and wife Erica of Crab Orchard; nieces Adrianna Elkins, Lacy and Danica Stover and nephew Teddy Ray Stover.
Funeral services for Scotty will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Breckenridge Baptist Church in Bolt, with Pastor Dewey Lowe officiating.

OAK HILL — James A. “Dick” Taylor, 89, of Oak Hill, died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, W.Va.
Born February 26, 1924 at Prudence, W.Va., he was the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth Starks Taylor.
Dick was a retired Service Man for WV American Water Company with 33 years service.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 149 in Fayetteville.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Fesco Taylor; son, Robert Taylor and wife, Tammie of Fayetteville; daughter, Karen Cogar and husband, Lee of Oak Hill and sister, Maxine Vandall of Beckley.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kristina Taylor, Morgan Roark and husband, Jordan and Jennifer Toney and husband, Rodney and five great grandchildren, Payton Roark, Amber Toney, Tristan Toney, Kaleb Toney and Jeremiah Toney.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.

James Dewey ‘Jim’ Turner
James Dewey “Jim” Turner, age 72, of Beckley, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Beckley VA Medical Center.
Born on July 24, 1941 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Dewey Turner and Thelma Maude Sweeney Turner.
Mr. Turner was a retired electrician for the Consolidated Coal Mines at Clear Creek. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Turner was a member of the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, car shows, particularly corvettes.
He was preceded in death by a sister Louise Turner and Edith Tilley.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Diane Gervais Turner. Children, Angela Turner and her companion Joe Bair of Bradley, Brian Turner and his wife Cyl of Richmond, Va., Matthieu Turner and his wife Brandi of Mount Hope. Sisters, Margie Heron of High Springs, Fla., Janet O’Dell of Ravenna, Ohio, Betty Hurts of Cambridge, Ohio, Peggy Hoosier of Lexington, N.C., Linda Broemsen of Concord, N.C. and Gloria Curry and her husband George of Prosperity. Grandchildren: Ashlee Benoit, Bretton Turner and Brynlee Grace Turner. Great-grandchildren: Max McGhee, and Lily Benoit. Many nieces and nephews who will miss Jim dearly also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.

Delbert Ray Whitt
Delbert Ray Whitt, 65, of Lester, passed away of natural causes Thursday, October 31, 2013.
Born December 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Wirt and Belva McDaniel Whitt.
Delbert was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He retired from U.S. Steel in Pennsylvania after 35 years.
In addition to his parents, Delbert is preceded in death by his brothers, James Whitt, Freddie Whitt, David Wayne Whitt and Charles Whitt; sisters, Bonnie Whitt Moore, Betty Whitt Mills.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Billy J. Whitt and wife Linda of Sophia, Ronnie E. Whitt and wife Vickie of Gap Mills.
In keeping with Delbert’s wishes, there will be no services. Delbert was cremated and will be buried at Hot Coal Cemetery, Sophia.
