Luvonne S. O’Dell Boley
NETTIE — Luvonne S. O’Dell Boley, 77, of Nettie, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at her home, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1935, at Snow Hill, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Olin Chester O’Dell and Mary Elouise Cole Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings E. Boley in 2011 and a brother, Everette Cole.
Luvonne was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church of Nettie, the Nettie Ladies Circle and a member of the Rainelle Red Hats Society.
She had worked as a clerk for the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Dwayne R. O’Dell (Priscilla) of Beckley, Danny K. O’Dell (Linda) of Leivasy; one brother, Charles Cole of Leivasy; three grandchildren, Jennifer O’Dell, Jessica Workman and Joe O’Dell.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Olive Branch Baptist Church of Nettie, with the Rev. Troy George officiating. At her request, her body is being donated to science.

Roger F. Day
Roger F. Day of Glade Springs, Daniels, and Vero Beach, Fla., died after a sudden illness on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was 83.
Mr. Day received a Baccalaureate Degree from Otterbein College and an LLB and JD from The Ohio State University School of Law. He served in The United States Army as a counter- intelligence officer.
Mr. Day was a Senior Tax Partner at the Columbus Office of the Law Firm of Jones Day until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Tax Hall of Fame which declared he was the best appellate advocate of his time and that litigation was not his only skill as he had unparalleled negotiating and settlement skills and more importantly, his ethical standards were beyond reproach.
Mr. Day was born in Sunbury Ohio, the son of the late Forest and Luretta Day.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Roberts Day; a son, Michael Day (Kelly) of Tiburon, Calif.; step-daughters Eva Fox Mate (Edward) of Lone Tree, Colo. and Catherine Fox Mott (Thomas), also of Lone Tree and grandchildren Kate Day, Anna and Samuel Mate and Elizabeth and Thomas Mott. He is also survived by his brother, Ross Day (Mary).
Roger Day was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach, Fla. and Beckley Presbyterian Church.
A Service for the Celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Thursday, October 31, at 11 a.m. at the Beckley Presbyterian Church, 203 South Kanawha Street, Beckley.
