Sandra Kay Nored

NEOLA — Sandra Kay Nored, 47, of Neola, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2012, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Pastor John Taylor officiating. Interment will be private for the family.

The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.

Ryan Scott Peek

Ryan Scott Peek, stillborn infant son of Jeremy Davis and Mary Peek, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Summersville Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday,  October 28, 2012, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, in Hinton. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.

Frederick Hamilton Thomason

NEW MARTINSVILLE — Frederick Hamilton Thomason, 82, of New Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan, with the Rev. Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.

Friends may call on the family Monday, October 29, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rev. George Allen “Bud” Thompson

Rev. George Allen “Bud” Thompson, age 78, of Beckley, passed away on Wednesday,  October 24, 2012, at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.

Born on February 1, 1934 in Jonben, WV, he was the son of the late Ollie Faye Adkins Thompson and Bynum Thompson.

Rev. Thompson was retired from the US Army after 23 years of service. He was a former coal miner, and retired from Southern States in Oak Hill, WV.

Rev. Thompson was an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served as an assistant pastor at Beckley Praise Church in Beckley. He enjoyed cooking and studying the Bible, sharing his faith in God.

Rev. Thompson was preceded in death by his first wife, Kitty  Thompson, by three brothers, and a sister.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Nancy Collins Hall Thompson. His children, George A. “Buddy” Thompson of Beckley, Billie Davis and her husband Ben of Mt. Holly, NC, Tammy Butler and her husband Bill of Prosperity, Robert Hall and his wife Suzi of Dallas, Georgia, Richard Hall and his wife Tracy of Beckley, David Hall and his wife Mary of Germantown, Maryland, and Douglas Hall and his wife Sarah of Beckley.

Two sisters, Ruby Murdock and her husband Cecil of Shady Spring, Phyllis James of Beckley, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Rev. George “Bud” Thompson on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley at 3 p.m., with Rev. Paul Chapman and Rev. Dennis Haga officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #32 Honor Guard.

Shannon E. Wheeler, 34, of Beckley died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, following an auto accident. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
