Ada Maye Bailey

SAULSVILLE — Ada Maye Bailey, 71, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012  at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

A daughter of the late Grat Daniels and Virginia Lafferty Daniels, she was born in Wyoming County, W.Va., on November 9, 1940.

Ada was a loving, wonderful mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Ross Bailey and brothers, Lundy Daniels and Jesse Daniels.

She is survived by her children, David Ross Bailey and wife, Dilek of Fayetteville, NC, Wesley Dean Bailey and wife, Jennifer of East Bend, NC, Karen Lynn Toler of Saulsville, Teresa Dickens and husband, James of Grandview, and Lesley Paul Bailey and wife, Denise of Mt. Airey, NC. She is also survived by sisters, Nancy Perry and husband, Doug of McCall, AL, Linda Browning and husband, Raymond of Beckley, Ann Crowe and husband, BJ of Martinsville, VA, and Ruth Murphy and husband, Doug of Ridgeway, VA; brothers, Gary Daniels and wife, Kim of Eden, NC and Henry Daniels and wife, Ella of Bassett, VA; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Daniels of Oceana and Barbara Daniels of Saulsville; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Ada’s life will be 7 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Evans Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Daniels officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In keeping with Ada’s wishes, her body will be cremated.

Charlotte ‘Joanne’ Cook Beavers

TEMPERANCE, Mich. — Charlotte “Joanne” (Cook) Beavers, 77, most recently of Temperance, passed away August 28, 2012, at Lake Park Hospice Facility in Sylvania, Ohio.

Joanne was born May 8, 1935, in Widemouth, W.Va., to Bernard and Beatrice (Daniels) Cook. She graduated from Pineville High School in 1953 and moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she married Robert “Bob” Beavers.

Joanne was a devoted Christian mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose heart and arms were always open with southern hospitality to all who knew her.  

Joanne worked at Libbey Glass, but her God given passion was working as a cosmetologist. She was the owner/operator of the Rivera Salon where she touched people’s lives by making them look their best physically and spiritually by teaching them the love of Jesus. Her motto was “Beauty is a woman’s duty.”

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bernard “Bernie” Cook and brother-in-law William “Bill” Cook. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Cook of New Port Richey, Fla.; sister-in-law Charlene Cook, Toledo; sister-in-law, Pat Fulwider, Temperance, Mich., by her children Bart (Ingrid) Beavers, Sylvania, Ohio, Scott (Julie) Beavers, Powell, Ohio, Keith Beavers, Caldwell, Ohio, by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Brooke, Hannah, Sarah and Emma Beavers and great granddaughter Allison Dubeansky.

Joanne is buried at the Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg, Ohio.
