Alice Hilda Dickerson
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Ms. Alice Hilda Dickerson, 92, of White Sulphur Springs, died Friday, October 5, 2012.
Born April 1, 1920, in Hot Springs, Va., she was the daughter of the late John A. Dickerson and Zoe L. White Dickerson.
Ms. Dickerson worked at The Greenbrier hotel and was also a beautician. She was a member of First Baptist Church White Sulphur Springs, Carnation Chapter #9 of the Eastern Star of Lewisburg, Bowling Alumni Association, Mother of the church, and church clerk.
Ms. Hilda enjoyed traveling. She went to Israel and Egypt. She enjoyed the Congress of Christian Education, and also enjoyed her flowers of which she had many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Wilburn (Buddy) Dickerson, and Milford Dickerson, nephew, Leon Dixon, adopted daughter, Laura Johnson, and loving dog, Pepper.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: adopted sons, Rev. Dr. A.C. (Kimberly) Durant of Washington, DC; and Rev. Greg E. Scott of White Sulphur Springs; sister, Annie D. Dixon of White Sulphur Springs; special friend, Connie Williams of White Sulphur Springs; nephew, Domonic Dixon, wife and two children, niece, Denise Basil, and children Angelio and Charles Edward, and many others who helped make her life easy.
Service will be 12 noon Thursday, October 11, 2012, at First Baptist Church White Sulphur Springs, 10 Church Street, White Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Dr. A.C. Durant and the Rev. Greg E. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Gum Street, White Sulphur Springs.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Special Building Fund, First Baptist Church White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Family will receive friends at her sister’s residence, 22 Church Street, White Sulphur Springs.
