David Lee Stover

MOUNT LOOKOUT — David Lee Stover, 59, died Saturday, May 18, 2013.

In keeping with his wishes his body will be cremated.  

Friends may call at the family residence in Mt. Lookout at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013.

James Scott Thombs

OAK HILL — James Scott Thombs, 48, of Oak Hill, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home.

Born October 29, 1964, at Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Edna Mae Bowens Thombs of Oak Hill, the late Albert Robert Thombs.

He was a disabled carpenter.

His companion, Tialisa Smith; brother, Leroy Thombs and two sisters, Ruth Mae Thombs and Irma Cooper preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by his siblings, Joyce Smith of Painezille, Ohio, Richard Thombs of Oak Hill, Constance Payne and husband, Ron of Lochgelly and Ronald Thombs and wife, Kimberly of Oak Hill; brother-in-law, Michael Cameron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with Pastor Brandon Smith officiating. Burial will be at Bibb Cemetery, Gatewood.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Leslie Ray Walton Sr.

Leslie Ray Walton Sr., 77, of MacArthur, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 following a long illness.

Born April 24, 1936 at Pence Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late John and Annie Warren Walton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ray Walton; brother, Jim Walton and by two sisters, Geneva Ellis and Toots Huffman.

Leslie was a retired delivery driver for South Insulation. He was member of Hollywood Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Hutton Walton; son, Paul Douglas Walton and wife Robin of Crab Orchard; daughter, Kathy Mullins and husband Hurley of Alpoca; grandchildren, Jonathan Walton, Rachel Walton, Stephanie Mullins, Tyler Walton; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Burman Walton and wife Jan of Putnam County, W.Va. and Charlie Walton and wife Letsie of Covington, Va.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Hollywood Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery at Creamery, W.Va.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
