Roy Ronald Adkins

Roy Ronald Adkins, age 68, of Piney View, passed away at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division on Monday, July 14, 2014.

Roy was born on May 6, 1946 in Beckley.

He was married to the love of his life, Sheila Wiseman Adkins, for 46 years. He was a man of God and deacon at Terry Christian Church. He enjoyed being outside working on cars, camping, and fishing. Roy served in the National Guard and was an underground coal miner. He and his family were very close and loved spending time together. Roy had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Papaw. He will be dearly missed.  

Roy was preceded in death his parents, Ed and Mary Hall Adkins, by siblings Eddie Adkins, Ruth Gilliam, Wilma Semsick, and Hagar Adkins.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Adkins, his son Ronnie Adkins and wife Christi, his son Scotty Adkins and wife Paula, his daughter Crystal Denny and husband Nick, his granddaughters Shannon, Alexa, Kelly, Olivia, Makensie, Eva and Aubrei, his siblings Billy Joe and Lottie Adkins, Joe and Rose Berry, Johnny and Brenda Adkins and Sam and Judy Sadler.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Terry Christian Church at Terry, on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Gene Snuffer officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.

Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Friday at the church.

Tammy Lynn Cade

ARTIE — Tammy Lynn Cade, 42, of Artie, passed away at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.  

Born on September 14, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Janice “Cammie” Stover Moles of Artie and the late Charles Moles.  

She was a member of the Church of God at Artie, and had lived all of her life in Artie.  

Survivors include her husband, Richard Cade; a brother, Charles Moles Jr. and his wife, Mirenda, of Artie. Several aunts, uncles, including an Aunt Joyce “Kitty” Scarbro of Clear Creek.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Artie Church of God on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 4:30 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at the Moles Cemetery in Artie.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
