Denise Annette Conine Baker

ALDERSON — Denise Annette Conine Baker, 59, of Alderson, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

Richard George Delmas

TACOMA, Wash. — Richard George Delmas, 80, of Tacoma, formerly of Meadow Bridge, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013.

In keeping with his final wishes, he was cremated and will be placed at Mountain View Cemetery in Lakewood, Wash. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Dawson.

Robert Paul Dickens ‘Candyman’

NEBO — Robert Paul Dickens “Candyman,” 87, of Nebo, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.

He was born June 15, 1925, in Maynard, W.Va., to the late Millard Dickens and Icie Taylor Dickens.

Paul was known to everyone as the “Candyman.” No matter where he was, he always offered a smile and a piece of candy. He was saved in January 1952 and became a member of Nebo Baptist Church in 1995. He was retired from the coal mines. He also painted several cars for different people.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Alderman.

Survivors include his wife Doris Dickens; daughter, Debbie Duddey and husband Mike; stepdaughter, Deloris Mollohan; stepsons, Stanley Tanner, Earl and Sharon Tanner, Lester and Angel Tanner, Sam and Debbie Tanner, and Randel and Edwina Tanner; sister, Jewel Phipps; brother, Dale and Jean Dickens; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends.

Services will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, May 25, at Nebo Baptist Church with Pastor Dewey Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery at Orgas, W.Va.

Visitation will be held the same afternoon from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
