Patricia L. Sedlock
HICO — Patricia L. Sedlock, 62, of Hico, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord on July 17, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
Patricia was the daughter of Mrs. Marie Hawkins of Little River, Texas, and the late Basil Hawkins.
She was preceded in death and lovingly welcomed home by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Thomas Sedlock, her sister, Virginia Jeffcoat, her brother, Charles “Buddy” Hawkins, a special nephew, Gene Neal, and her granddaughter, Casey Dempsey.
Left to carry on her legacy of faith and love are her husband of 42 years, Andrew Sedlock of Hico; children, Mandy Dempsey and Ryan Dempsey of Victor, W.Va., and A.J. Sedlock and Adrian Wills of Hico; loving additions that God added to our family, Phillip Dempsey and Amy Hammons; her grandchildren, Alysia Sedlock, Avina Sedlock, Tyler Sedlock, Colin Dempsey, Emily Dempsey, Aaron and Alex Dempsey, and one expected great-grandchild.
Her sisters and brothers cherish memories and looking toward a reunion day are: Cindy and Keith Bennett of Hico, Frank “Buster” Hawkins and Sonia Jones of Lookout, R.P. and Paula Hill of Temple, Texas, Bonnie and Gary Stull of Hico, and Barbara and Pat Isaacs of Hico.
The memories of Pat during their lives will always be shared by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles throughout many places.
Pat was a faithful member of Sunday Road Baptist Church during her life and has taught many kids the importance of having “Time to talk to God.” With patience, understanding and unconditional love her compassion and care for others will leave a memory beyond words. She also cared for many children who refer to her as “granny” in her years of cafeteria manager at Fayetteville High School.
A celebration of Pat’s home going will be held at Sunday Road Baptist Church on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with Pastor Alan Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor, W.Va.
We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love shown throughout the past months to our family. The cards, phone calls, visits, donation of time and money, but most cherished, the prayers, will never be forgotten and thank you will never be enough.
