Rebecca Ann Harvey Reynolds

MILAN, Ohio — Rebecca Ann Harvey Reynolds, 72, of Milan, a native of Hilldale, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013,

Bertha Agnes Hawks

PRINCETON — Bertha Agnes Hawks, 96, of Princeton, formerly of Lindside, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, in Peterstown, with Pastor Paul Broyles and Brother Rodger Boothe officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Cemetery, Ballard. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the funeral home.

Linda Carol Houck

Linda Carol Houck, 53, of Beckley, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, after a short battle with leukemia.

Born on September 28, 1953, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Neta Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey “Bim” Houck, a brother, William “Tim” Miller, and a grandmother, Bessie Martin.

Linda was a longtime employee of Jay Roles Floral in Beckley where she served as the senior floral designer. She was widowed at a young age, and raised three children as a single mother. Linda had a special love for her little friend, Ves; her German Shepherd, Harley; and her friends. She displayed a loyalty to her family and others that is simply unparalleled. Linda was a fighter.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Neta Brown, and her husband, Jim Brown of Fairdale; two children, Saundra Swafford and her husband, James Swafford of Beckley; and Rodney Farmer of Beckley; a granddaughter, Lexis Farmer of Beckley; a stepdaughter, Natasha Houck Smith of Mabscott; a stepson, Nick Houck of Mabscott; a sister, Londa Justus of Beckley; stepsister Mellisa Shorter, and her husband Brian Shorter of Sophia; stepbrother, Chris Brown, and his wife Caroline Brown of Troutman, NC; and a special forever brother-in-law, Derek Justus of Crab Orchard.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at Melton Mortuary in Beckley. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melton Mortuary in Beckley.
