Richard Lee Blankenship

CLEAR FORK — Richard Lee Blankenship, 57, of Clear Fork, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at noon Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, W.Va., with Rev. Sammy Lester and Pastor Hannibal Blankenship Jr. officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Cook Cemetery on Toler Farm at Clear Fork, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beverly A. Dorcas

NITRO — Beverly A. Dorcas, 55, of Nitro, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008.

Service will be 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Vandalia. Friends may call one hour prior to the church.

Chandler (Chan) Mischelle Fox

MEADOW BRIDGE — We are heartbroken and saddened to announce the death of Chandler (Chan) Mischelle Fox, 18, of Meadow Bridge, who passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born Feb. 7, 1990, in Beckley, W.Va., she was the daughter of Kathy Jo Roark of Oak Hill and Matthew Dale Fox of Danese. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice.

She was preceded in death by her fiancé, David McClung.

Survivors include her mother, Kathy Jo Roark of Oak Hill; her father, Matthew Dale Fox of Danese; a brother, Ryan Dale Fox, at home; paternal grandparents, Alva and Geneva Fox of Backus Mountain; maternal grandparents, James and Jeannie Roark of Danese; four aunts, Dolly Smith and husband, Joey, of Danese, Donna Marcum and husband, Porky, of Beckley, Shannon McPeake and husband, Barry, of Beckley, and Sheila Barth of North Carolina; an uncle, Dean Fox and wife, Lena, of Backus Mountain; cousins, Natosha, Haylee, Taylor, Samantha, Tabitha, Sarena, Travis, Shaylen, Shanna, Tucker, Jeannie Marie, and Hanna; and a very special friend, Chrissy Martin of Danese; as well as her baby puppy, Gizmore.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Evangelist Shirley Fox and Porky Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery on Backus Mountain in Meadow Bridge.

Pallbearers will be Dale Fox, Ryan Fox, Joey Smith, Dean Fox, Porky Marcum, and Cody Martin.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle.

She will be sadly missed by Daddy, brother, Chrissy, family, and friends.

Juanita Rice Lusk

Juanita Rice Lusk, of Sophia, formerly of Allen Junction, passed away at home Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, of natural causes.

William Wade ‘Bill’ Lynch

William Wade “Bill” Lynch, 60, passed away at his home Thursday morning, Sept. 11, 2008, following a short illness.

He was born at Ronceverte, W.Va., on July 12, 1948, a son of Pauline Sexton Lynch of Union and the late Elwyn W. Lynch.

Mr. Lynch was an employee of Meade Westvaco at Covington, Va., where he was employed as a Carbon Plant 1st Assistant. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. Mr. Lynch was a 1966 graduate of Union High School. He was an avid hunter, a Protestant, and a member of the United Steelworker’s Union Local # 675, where he had served as a shop steward.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, James David Lynch of Sam Black Church and Daniel Grant Lynch of Gap Mills; three sisters, Nancy Peck and her husband, Robert, of Hinton, Ruth Brooker and her husband, George, of Keller, Texas, and Kathryn Pearson and her husband, Philip, of North Richland Hills, Texas; three grandsons, Christopher Michael Mines, Dylan Myers, and Neel Grant Lynch; special friend, Linda Hoke; and several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, with Lay Speaker Bruce Epler and Rev. William Epler officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery at Union, W.Va.

Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Rifle Association.

David Ray McClung Jr.

MEADOW BRIDGE — David Ray McClung Jr., 31, of Meadow Bridge, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident that also claimed the life of his fiancée, Chandler Mischelle Fox.

Born June 23, 1977, in Fairlea, he was the son of Sandra Lee Rodgers Cool and the late David Ray McClung Sr.

David was a finisher for the concrete construction company Top Dawg in Beckley.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviv-ors include his mother, Sandra of Meadow Bridge; a daughter, Katelyn Marie McClung of Danese; two sons, Charles David and James David McClung of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; stepfather, Mark A. Vandall of Rainelle; a sister, Jennifer Dawn Rodgers of Meadow Bridge; a brother, Mark Eric Vandall of Rainelle; his grandfather, James Rodgers of Meadow Bridge; and three nephews, Brandon Smith, Logan Smith, and Mark Jayden Vandall.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with the Rev. Bennie Kenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery at Meadow Bridge, W.Va.

Friends may call one hour before the service.

Donald Jeb Ramirez

DANESE — Donald Jeb Ramirez, 28, of Danese, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, from injuries received from an automobile accident.

Born April 20, 1980, in Flagstaff, Ariz., he is survived by his mother, Cecile R. Daniels Tabor of Danese; his stepfather, Charles R. Tabor of Danese; his father, Charles Ramirez Jr. of Buckeye, Ariz.; a son, Dylan Trail of Hinton; a brother, Charles Salem Ramirez and Dallas Morton of Meadow Bridge; grandparents, Cecil and Dawn Daniels of Meadow Bridge and Charles and Belia Ramirez of Glendale, Ariz.; and two nephews, Jared Salem Ramirez and Danny Ray Ramirez.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 13, 2008, at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Mark Spence officiating.

HICO — Leona Marie Ward, 69, of Hico, passed away Sept. 11, 2008.

Jaunita Lucille Webb

Jaunita Lucille Webb, born Nov. 7, 1931, passed away on Sept. 10, 2008, at the age of 76, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lona Eathel Messer Elkins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Eugene Webb; two brothers, Hillard Elkins and Billy Elkins; and a granddaughter, Heather Diane Webb.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Criss Webb of Montcoal, W.Va.; three daughters, Kay and Danny Howell of Naoma, W.Va., Margo and Danny Canterbury of Montcoal, W.Va., and Diane Canterbury and her fiancé, Steven Darnell of Holly Hills, W.Va.; two sons, Richard and Patty Webb of Holly Hills, W.Va., and Jerry and Annette Webb of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Rosanell Cramer of Hurricane, W.Va., and Daisy and Junior Harmon of Eleanor, W.Va.; two brothers, Bobby and Jean Elkins of Eleanor, W.Va., and David and Vern Elkins of Winfield, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren, Kim Webb Snow, Christa Webb, Randa Webb Basham, Franklin Webb, Danny Leon Howell II, Bendi Kerrin Howell, Christina Canterbury Pearce, Brandy Lee Canterbury Robinette, Danny Joe Canterbury II, Melissa Webb Turner, Jeffery Canterbury, and Jennifer Canterbury; nine great-grandchildren, Christopher (Allen) Dickens, Tyler Dickens, Isabella Pearce, Alan Snow (JR), Makayla Basham, Brooklyn Basham, Alanna Canterbury, Lacy Canterbury, and Jakob Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, W.Va., with Pastor Jerry Brown and Pastor Don Blankenship officiating. Singers will be David and Glenna Bailey. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, W.Va.

Visitation will be one hour before service.

PENCE SPRINGS — Roberta Sue “Susie” Wickline, 51, of Pence Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
