CHINA GROVE, N.C. — Brian Lee Allen, 44, of China Grove, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at his home.
Born June 15, 1962, in Beckley, he was the son of William L. Allen of Bolt and Ella Osborne Baker of Beckley.
Brian was preceded in death by his stepfather, William C. Baker.
Mr. Allen had been employed with All Supply Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.
Other than his parents, survivors include his wife, Robin Smith Allen; a son, Christopher Allen at home; two daughters, Ashley Allen and Kristie Allen, both of Mount Hope; a brother, William Allen of Bolt; three sisters, Deborah Booker of Saginaw, Mich., Karen Kidd of Beckley and Sharon Sabie of Bolt; and granddaughter, Aubree Payne.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Brecken Ridge Church, Bolt, with the Rev. Dewey Lowe officiating.

Robert Joe ‘Bobby Joe’ Allmon
Robert Joe “Bobby Joe” Allmon, of Crab Orchard, went to be with our Lord at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006. He passed at his home following a very long illness.
His devoted wife of many years, Ellen Schwerthofer Allmon, and two young sons, Cody Ray and Mat-thew Ryan, were at his bedside. He is no longer suffering and will be sadly missed by all.
Private military service was Nov. 16 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Daughter Renee Allmon Reed with husband Kenneth and immediate family were in attendance.

Charlie Lee Brown
RAINELLE — Charlie Lee Brown, 89, of Rainelle, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at his daughter’s home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1917, at Blue Sulphur Springs, he was the son of the late Thurman and Leal Tincher Brown.
Mr. Brown was a member of Rainelle United Methodist Church and retired from Georgia-Pacific and Meadow River Lumber.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Vira Belle Brown; a son, Tim Houston Brown; two grandsons, Kevin and Ott Brown; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his six children, Charles Brown and wife, Angela, of Spring Dale, Ithel Bragg and husband, the late James Bragg, of Rainelle, Darrel Brown and wife, Christy, of Crag, Karen Bragg and husband, Robert, of Rainelle, Gail Rudd and husband, Martin, of Rainelle and Robin Rudd and husband, Mike, of Rainelle; a daughter-in-law, Mary Brown of Rupert; a brother, Chester Brown of Wharncliff; 16 grandchildren, Kandy Adkins, Melissa Redden, Robbie Bragg, Michael Brown, Heather Rudd, Chris Rudd, Johnathan Bragg, Andrea Redden, Luke Rudd and Jeremy Rudd, all of Rainelle, Aaron Brown of New Albany, Ind., David Brown of Sims Crossing, Kenneth Bragg of Keyser, Jeff Bragg of North Carolina, Penny Legg of Orient Hill and Jason Brown of Crag; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter, Trinity Nicole Adkins-Hughart.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastor Allen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Maude Chapel Cemetery, Dawson.
Friends may call one hour before service Monday at the funeral chapel.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Bragg, Michael Brown, Jason Brown, Christopher Rudd, Jeremy Rudd and Kenneth Bragg.

Letah Jane Gregory
Letah Jane Gregory, 88, of Shady Spring, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, after a short illness.
Born March 5, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Laurel Amburgey.
In addition to her parents, Letah was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gregory; and daughter, Doris Clemons.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Mary Ellen Davis and husband, Charles, of Mabscott, Annabell Stanley and husband, Larry, of Conyers, Ga., Martha Todd of Conyers and Toni McKinney of Emmett, Idaho; sons, Frank Gregory of Tucson, Ariz., Anthony Gregory and wife, Brenda, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeff Gregory and wife, Lisa, of Shady Spring; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Harry Lee Amburgey of Oceana, Roy Amburgey of Oceana and Ike Amburgey of Logan.

Wilma Lee LaDoucer
MULLENS — Wilma Lee LaDoucer, 76, of Mullens, died at her home on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006.
Born May 13, 1930, at Mount View, she was the daughter of the late James Phillip and Elizabeth Jane Basham Lester.
Wilma lived in Mullens for 43 years and was a homemaker and a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church of Mullens. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family. She was a loyal friend to many. She regularly fed the birds and loved to watch them in her yard. She doted on her grandchildren and cherished her time with them. Over the years, she had many pets and loved her time with them. She enjoyed calling friends and family and is now rejoicing in Heaven with those who were waiting for her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis C. LaDoucer; two sisters, Georgia Hypes and Glema Lester; and a brother, James Lester.
Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Susan Hall and her husband, Garrett, of Bradley, Debra LaDoucer of Charleston, Kathy Manning and her husband, Clark, of Oceana and Lisa Taylor and her husband, R. Clark, of Lynchburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, David Hall and his wife, Terra, Jimmy Hall and his wife, Amber, Lauren Manning, Jordan Manning, Samantha Taylor, Daniel Taylor and Benjamin Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Faith Hall and Elena Hall; and three sisters, Edna Myles and Dorothy Massie and her husband, Dean, all of Daniels, and Frances Chapman and her husband, Jack, of Shady Spring. She will be sadly missed by all, especially her faithful companions, Missy and Hunter.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Avenue Baptist Church, Mullens, with Rev. John J. Rinehard officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Clay Burton McMillion
RICHWOOD — Clay Burton McMillion, 71, of Richwood, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Richwood Area Community Hospital after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Arlene Perkins McMillion; two brothers, Jimmy and Lloyd McMillion; and three sisters, Betty Jo Adams, Mary Jane and Delma McMillion.
He was a retired supervisor for Mead Container, Milwaukee, Wis. He was also a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Regenia Green McMillion; two brothers, Carrell McMillion of Nettie and Carl McMillion of Nettie; and two sisters, Helen Flanagan of Nettie and Julia Amick of Levisay.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Pastor Ken Shiflet officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Nettie.

Nola Dare Puckett, 85, of Beckley, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at the home of her daughter, Linda Grose of Mabscott.

Scotty Ray Ransom
On Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, Scotty Ray Ransom passed away. He was 35 years of age.
Born Feb. 5, 1971, in Beckley, Scotty was the beloved son of Marion F. and Beverly Eg-ler Ransom of Stover.
Scotty spent his childhood in the communities of Bolt and Stover. He was a 1988 graduate of Trap HiIl High School. Scotty had a great love and interest in cars. An avid NASCAR fan, he was a mechanic by trade, having worked for Glenn’s Towing Service and Mountaineer Coach. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carlos and Nellie Ransom, and maternal grandparents, Harry and Pauline Egler.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by loving wife, Amy Jo Massey Ransom; he was the precious father of Brandon, Dalton, Jessica and Jayden Ransom; and the dear brother of James Michael Ransom of Beckley; a large extended family and many friends also survive.
Service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Dewey Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery, Breckenridge Road.
Friends may call one hour before service Monday.

Delphia Faye Burgess Webb, 70, of Artie, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at her home in Whitesville.
She was born June 17, 1936, at Artie, the daughter of the late Hugh and Lucinda Workman Burgess.
She attended the Freewill Baptist Church, Naoma.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Vauda Golden, Loretta Walkner, Virginia Dunbar, Mabel Stover and Wilma Talbalkar; and three brothers, Normal, Woodrow and Leo Burgess. She was the last surviving member of the Burgess family.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis and wife, Barbara Meador, of Whitesville and Randy Webb of Maple Fork; two daughters, Denise Cook of Crab Orchard and Debbie and husband, Harless Adkins, of Beckley; seven grandchildren, Michelle and Shawn Adkins, Jeremy Payne, Mark and Matthew Cooper, Jacob Meador and Michael Webb; and a great-grandson, Jeremy Ryan Payne Jr.
