John K. Gieseking
John K. Gieseking, age 79, of Beckley, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Beckley Appalachian Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born July 29, 1933, in Nokomis, Ill., to the late John Gieseking and Gladys Jenkins Gieseking.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jo Gieseking.
Those surviving include his wife, Jean Gieseking; sons, Jay Gieseking of Beckley and John K. Gieseking II and wife Peggy of Joppa, Md.; and a grandson, Jayden Gieseking of Beckley.
In keeping with John’s final wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.

Elizabeth Imogene Grimmett
HINTON — Elizabeth Imogene Grimmett, 93, of Hinton, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Summers County A.R.H. Hospital in Hinton, following a short illness.
Born July 11, 1919, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Leona V. Ellison Lilly.
Imogene was a 1937 graduate of Hinton High School and was the second Miss Bobcat in the school’s history. She was an honor student and a member of the Girl Reserves Club at the school. She was former employee of Tots & Teens Clothing in Hinton and also Cox’s Department Store in Hinton. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hinton and was a lifelong resident of the city.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jesse Paul Grimmett. Also by a son, Milton A. “Tony” Grimmett, three brothers, James Robert, John Edward and William David Lilly, and by a great-aunt, Maude Ellison Wills.
Survivors include a son, Roger Paul Grimmett and wife Ruth of Hampton, VA, and a daughter, Roberta Sue Wheeler of Hinton. Two brothers, Jack E. Lilly and wife Janice and Vivian Lilly, both of Hinton. Two sisters, Judith Ann McCoy and husband John of Grottoes, VA, and Mary Carol Humphries of Hinton. Seven grandchildren, Sara Fix and husband Randy, Alan Grimmett, Betty Jo Grimmett Barrett, James L. Grimmett and wife Samantha, Susan Wheeler, Rebecca Jones and Diane Holland and husband Clay; 14 great-grandchildren, Kendra, Meghan, Mandy, Dylan, Garry, Tyler, Hailey, Kayden, Kyleigh, Jace, Paul, Ryan James, Molly and Kassi; one great-great-grandchild, Donovan Cael.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Garry Wayne Wheeler, Tyler Heath Jones, Ronald Keith Lilly, Richard Kent Lilly, Roy Lee Adkins and Garry E. Wheeler.
