Richard D. ‘Dick’ Kincaid

DURBIN — Richard D. “Dick” Kincaid died Thursday, May 2, 2013.

Dick will be cremated with a memorial service at a later date at the Durbin Methodist Church. His remains will be placed in Arbovale Cemetery and other locations of special meaning to him.

Norma Ruth Marchant

Norma Ruth Marchant, age 74, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Smyth County Community Hospital.

She was born in Helen, W.Va., to the late Hayes Maynard and Pearl Lee Gross Maynard and was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Sanders and Sandra Zella.

Norma was retired from the Smyth County Community Hospital after 21 years and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ernest “Pete” Marchant; children: Ernest H. “Buddy” Marchant and wife Eve, Painted Post, NY, Ron Marchant and wife Kelly, Marion, Va., Mike Marchant and wife Sue, Marion, Va., Rick Marchant, Marion, Va., Chris Marchant and wife Tonya, Marion, Va. Grandchildren: Trevor Marchant and wife Amy, Brandon Marchant and wife Brandi, Heather Nicole Marchant, Kelsey Marchant, Trae Marchant, Mariah Marchant, Ethan Marchant, Kamran Marchant. Great-Grandchildren: Madison Marchant, Gabe Marchant, Aiden Marchant; sister: Nancy Carol Kendell, South Fulton, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Dean Sanders, Marion; sister-in-law, Betty U. Marchant, Spokane, Wash.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Marchant Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
