Laura Jane ‘Lottie’ Buzzard Barker

KEITH — Laura Jane “Lottie” Buzzard Barker, 50, of Keith, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Keith Full Gospel Church, Keith, with Pastor June Ferrell. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church.

Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.

HINTON — Harold L. Bragg, 81, of Hinton died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

Garnet Rose Tolbert Coffman

Garnet Rose Tolbert Coffman, 81, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Oak Grove Christian Church with Minister Kelly Gowen and Minister Ken Hawes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Calfee Funeral Home and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Oak Grove Christian Church, 261 Oak Grove Road, Beckley, WV 25801.

OCEANA — Tina Marie Toler Fox, 45, of Oceana, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.

Phillip Dale Goff

Phillip Dale Goff, age 46, of Lester, WV, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013.

Born on April 20, 1966, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Russell and Myrtle Acord Goff.

Mr. Goff was a former employee of the WV Department of Highways. He had made Lester and Glen White his home all of his life.

A son, Marcus Dale Riley, preceded him in death also.

Survivors include his wife Betty Riley Goff; Three children, Phillip Dusty Riley and his wife Phylicia, Rusty Riley, Kelia Goff, all of Glen White. Four brothers, Russell Goff Jr. and his wife Felicia, of Coal City, Bobby Goff of Lester, Stanley Goff of Lester, and Wesley Goff and his wife Alicia of Lester.

Two sisters, Martha Pettry of Lester, and Cindy Duncan of Tolley Town. A grandchild,  Courtney Riley of Glen White.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dewey Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Wanda M. Hodges

RONCEVERTE — Wanda M. Hodges, 80, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, after a short illness.

Born May 26, 1932, in Ronceverte and was the daughter of the late Elbert Burton and Julia Mary Lindsey Hodges.

Ms. Hodges had been a lifelong resident of Ronceverte, member of the First Church of God, Ronceverte, was retired with 40 years of service from Verizon Telephone Company (C&P Telephone Co) as an operator and installer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lois E. Sams, one brother, Glen Hodges.

Survivors include one sister, Mabel Robinson and husband, Charlie, of St. Albans, two brothers, E.B. Hodges and wife, Belle, of Ronceverte, John Hodges and wife, Juanita, of Ronceverte, brother-in-law, Julian Sams of Ronceverte, and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Longanacre Funeral home Chapel, Fairlea, with Rev. Dan Gaither and rev. Rick Hefner officiating. Burial to follow in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lewisburg.

Friends and family may call 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Longanacre Funeral Home, Fairlea.

John Knicely

RICHWOOD — John Knicely, 75, of Richwood, WV, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, at Nicholas County Nursing and Rehab Center, Richwood, WV, after a long struggle with cancer.

He was born September 22, 1937, in Nicholas County, WV, to the late Scott and Anna Chambers Knicely.

Loving husband, father, grandfather. Great family man and friend.

Loved his cat Daisy.

Army Vet.

Retired from Swell Coal Company.

Loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Mason with the Pendleton County Lodge.

Survivors: Wife, Lucrecia Knicely, Richwood, WV. Daughter, Kelly Knicely, NC. 2 Sons, Delmas Donald Boyce, VA, and Mark Douglas Boyce, FL. 6 Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, WV, with Pastor Larry Russell officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park, Richwood, WV.

Friends may call Tuesday, February 12, 2013, from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. in Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, WV.

Gregory Kent Rose

Gregory Kent “Gregg” Rose, age 59, of Daniels, WV, passed away at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley following a short illness.

Born on June 11, 1953, he was the son of Howard Rose of Beaver and the late Dolly Zimmerman Rose.

Mr. Rose was a master control operator for WSWP TV. He had made his home at Daniels for the past 27 years. Mr. Rose enjoyed watching sports and living life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Connie Benfield Rose; a son, Christopher Rose and his girlfriend Savannah Lively of Shady Spring.

A stepson, Richard Brogan of Cool Ridge, two brothers, Jeff Rose of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Tracy Rose and his wife Angela of North Carolina.

Grandchildren, Elija Lively, and Bentley Rose. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Gregory Kent Rose on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Rev. Damon Hamby.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Dempsey ‘Demp’ Walls

CLEAR FORK — Dempsey “Demp” Walls, 85, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV.

He was born November 25, 1927, in Wyoming County, WV, a son of the late Phillip Sheridan and Thelma Ivy Farrell Walls.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth, Naomi and Minnie Pearl, and a brother Jack.

He was a good-hearted old coal miner that loved getting up in the morning for a good cup of coffee. Then immediately getting into his car to go for a ride. He would stop and see friends and brag about his tomatoes and could then go pick a four-leaf clover. At the age of 85 he had quite a ride and everyone knew him. He loved little kids, dogs and cats. He loved Jesus and we’re sure he loves seeing him now. We love you and will see you soon, so we can go for a ride and listen to Alan Jackson.

Survivors include a brother Mickey Walls of Clear Fork; a nephew Mickey (Kathy) Sutters of San Angelo, TX; a great-niece Sarah Sutters of San Angelo, TX; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, with Rev. Allen Blankenship officiating. In keeping with the family’s wishes he will be cremated.

Friends may gather with the family from 5 until service time at the funeral home.
