Mr. Isaiah Shivers, 20, of Beckley, died January 24, 2013, at the Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House.
Born June 8, 1992, he was the son of Christopher Shivers of Beckley and Kimberly Michelle Jackson Shivers of Summerville, S.C.
He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandmothers Mary Magdeline Mallory and Catherine Jackson; and grandfather Nathaniel Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children Xaveair Christopher Tay’sean Shivers of Oak Hill and Zy’airah Nevaeh Austin of Beckley; his grandparents, Sherman and Pamela Ross of Beckley; and grandmother, Geraldine Nelson Shivers of Detroit; a brother Dezmahn Shivers of Summerville, S.C., one sister Chante Shivers of Beckley; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Bishop Bob Tunstalle officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call the church one hour prior to the service.

William Sherman Shumate
William Sherman Shumate, 72 of Sophia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
Born on June 27, 1940, at Itmann, W.Va., he was the son of the late Luther Arlie Shumate and Hazel Ruth Holdren Shumate.
William was known by many as Tommy or Shorty. He was a retired coal miner and a member of Rhodell Church of God. He had a love of antique cars, as well as collecting model cars, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Luther “Pete”, Samuel, Okey, and Furley Shumate, and sister Virginia “Snookie” Lilly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years Rosa Lee Meadows Shumate. Three sons, Michael Meadows and wife Peggy of Rhodell, Muncy Shumate and wife Carol of Eccles, and Gregory “Slim” Shumate of Mt. Hope. Two daughters, Sharon Scott and husband Billy of Sophia and Darla Farruggia and fiancé Mark Criner of Coal City. Seven grandsons, Michael “Bo” Parks and wife Melissa, Mathew Meadows and wife Samantha, Billie Parks and wife Amanda, Nicholas Farruggia and wife Mandy, Nate Shumate, Zach Shumate, and Luke Farruggia. Three granddaughters, Michelle Austin and husband Jeff, Kim Criner, and Cathy Criner. Four sisters, Darcas “Dot” Rose, Elvira McKinney and husband Clyde, JoAnn Johnson, and Vicky Justice. Fourteen great-grandchildren and dear friends Leo and Charlene Helmondollar.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Gary Eskins officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
