Ernest Oliver Dillard

Ernest Oliver Dillard, 68, of Beckley, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, after a short illness.

Born September 26, 1944, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Oliver Dillard and Francis Love Harbin.

Mr. Dillard was a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Samuel Harbin and brothers, Nathaniel Dillard and Earl Dillard.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife of 38 years, Grace Regina Pannell Dillard of Beckley; his children, Kelvin Pannell and Corey Pannell, both of Beckley, Michael Dillard, Arthur (Landlo) Dillard, Felicia MaBone, Fatima Dillard, all of Gary, Ind. and Michelle Reed of New York; brother, Tyrone Harbin of Beckley; sister, Martha Finney of Beckley; 20 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at Welcome Baptist Church, 206 8th St., Beckley, with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Christine Kershner Dinsmore

WORTHINGTON, Ohio — Christine Kershner Dinsmore, 79, of Worthington, formerly of Lewisburg, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the home of her daughter.

Christine was born March 18, 1933, in Frankford, W.Va., to the late Clyde and Mattie (Suttle) Kershner. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Cameron Kershner; sisters, Jean Loving and Peggy Sevy; and her son, Howard Edward “Butch” Campbell Dinsmore.

She is survived by her three daughters, Debbie, Diane and Lynn Dinsmore; grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Sami, Alex, Maddie, Lillie, and Max; great grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlynn; nieces, Nancy and Marilyn; nephews, Mike, Bo, Bill, Doug, Jon, and Richard; and other relatives and friends.

Christine was retired from the Behavior Health Department at Riverside Methodist Hospital, after 17 years of service. She was also a long-time member of the Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg, WV, where she served as President of the Presbyterian Women of the Church, and was a member of the P.E.O. Christine had many accomplishments in her life, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Americana Thrift Shop and reuniting the North and South Presbytery.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Old Stone Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, W.Va. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday 30 minutes prior to the service.
