Donald L. Lilly, 57, of Beckley, passed away on January 12, 2013, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following an extended illness.
Born January 5, 1956, to the late Rev. Roscoe Lilly and Lela Ferguson Lilly.
Those surviving include brothers, Basil Lilly of Sophia, Randall Lilly and wife Ruth of Upshur County, and Michael Lilly of Crab Orchard; sisters, Bertha Ruthledge and husband Bob Rutledge of Beaver, Shelby Shelton of Beckley, and Pansy Kelly of Randolph County; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Sheba.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel in Beckley with Rev. Orville Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Birchfield Cemetery on Ellison Ridge.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held the same afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

RHODELL — Carol Jean Smith, 71, of Rhodell went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Fortner, following a long illness.
Born April 26, 1941, at Rhodell, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Eula Shrewsbury Cunningham.
Carol was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Rhodell. In her leisure she enjoyed playing bingo, loved vacationing at the beach, and she especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ranny Smith; a daughter, Sherry Blankenship; and two sons, Ricky and Ranny Lee Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted daughter and care giver, Patricia Fortner and her husband, David, of Rhodell; seven grandchildren, Crystal Simmons, April Blankenship, Becky, Zachary, and Junior Smith, and Cody and Faith Fortner; one great-grandchild, Landon Simmons; three sisters, Judy Milam of Rhodell, Marie Grose of Glover, and Willa Kay Davidson of Sophia; one brother, Eddie Cunningham of Rhodell; and a special friend, Lois Wall of Rhodell.
Graveside services and burial will be 12 noon Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Slab Fork Cemetery, Tams Mountain, with Rev. Gary Eskins officiating.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
