Marsha S. Hannah Thompson
PINEVILLE — Marsha S. Hannah Thompson, 51, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at her home.
Born October 27, 1961 in Bluefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Statt and Jean Fertig Hannah.
Marsha was a 1979 graduate of Oceana High School. She attained an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Concord College. She was a former employee of Buddy’s Discount and had been employed for the last twelve years with Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville. She was also a long time employee of C.M.J.R. Delivery Service.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Chelsea Thompson and her companion, Billy Roberts of Pineville; Wade Huffman of Surveyor, her companion of five years, who loved her dearly; and her cat, Luna.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Doc Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
Friends may gather with the family 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of the Pineville Fire Department, of which her daughter, Chelsea is a member.

VERDUNVILLE — Odell Vance, 70, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Maryetta United Baptist Church, Verdunville, with Pastor Lonnie Gore Jr. and the Rev. Otto Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.

Harry O. Woods Jr.
HINTON — Harry O. Woods Jr., 77, of Mark Meador Road, Hinton, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at his home following a long illness.
Born February 20, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry O. Woods Sr. and Ada Courtright Woods.
Harry proudly served our Country in the U.S. Army retiring with 24 years of service. During this time he received awards for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity including Good Conduct Awards along with numerous other commendations throughout his military career.
Woody loved his family and his friends whom he considered his extended family. His special passion was anything to do with old cars and trucks especially cadillacs which earned him the name “The Cadillac Man”.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Farley and Mary Frisbey, one brother, Robert Woods and also his late wife.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet Rush Woods, his step-son, Edgar Rush and wife Barbara of Hinton, step grandson, Joseph Rush, of Midway, brother-in-law Donald Reed and special friend Sandra Via, and nephew Patrick Reed of Hinton. Harry is also survived by his sisters Betty Zeitler of Hawthorn, Calif., Sonya Econ and husband Joseph of Little Rock, Calif., Jean Messer of Columbus and Ann Woods of Youngstown, Ohio, his brother James Woods of Columbus Ohio, a sister-in-law Elfriede Woods of Columbus, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, January 4, 2013, at 12 p.m. at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors, with Pastor Robbie Merritt and Dr. Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery on Madams Creek with Graveside Military Honors.
