Solon Brady Briggs

Solon Brady “Jimmy” Briggs, 81, of 495 Stokes Drive, Hinton, died Sunday Dec. 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, with Rev. Fred Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Talcott Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

OAK HILL — Carl Delbert Canterbury, 84, of Oak Hill, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2012.

Gary Dean Cook

Gary Dean Cook, 62, of Midway, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

Born May 18, 1950, he was a son of Bertie Lillian Cook and his step-father, Carlos Lilly.

Gary enjoyed fishing, working on motorcycles and lawnmowers. He was employed as an auto mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Cindy Cook of Beckley and stepfather, Carlos Lilly of Beckley.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia, with Rev. Jimmie Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends may gather with the family from noon until service time Friday.
