Genevieve Athalene Bever

RICHWOOD — Genevieve Athalene Bever, 86, of Richwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, in Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Rev. Carl Bradshaw officiating. Interment will be in Russell Cemetery, Craigsville. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home.

All arrangements were made by Simons-Coleman Funeral Home Inc., Richwood.

Beatrice Ellen Bowles

SCARBRO — Beatrice Ellen Bowles, 84, of Scarbro, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at her home following a long illness.

Born May 25, 1928, at Thayer, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna K. Carson Vannetter.

Beatrice worked at the sewing factory in Rainelle, at Bright of America in Summersville and was a loving homemaker who cherished her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Raymond R. “Scootie” Bowles; 2 granddaughters Sue Ellen Teel and Larissa Bowles; 6 brothers Fred, Jack, Junior, Dick, Bill and Tom Vannetter; and 2 sisters Deloris Vannetter and Elizabeth Ervin.

Survivors include her 5 sons Rev. Donald Bowles and wife Lorraine of Edmond, Carl Bowles and wife Lucille, Clifford Bowles and wife Sue all of Winona, Curtis Bowles and wife Erma and Vincent Bowles all of Meadow Bridge, 3 daughters Belinda Belmont and husband Raymond of Fayetteville, Connie Bowles of Meadow Bridge and Deborah Hancock and husband Patrick of Scarbro; sister Mary Dixon of Hesperia, Calif.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and extended family.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with her son Rev. Donald Bowles officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone.

Pallbearers will be Mike Anderson, Dexter Thompson, J.R. Simms, Justin, Donnie and Jason Bowles.

Friends may call one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
