DaGloria Bsharah
DaGloria Bsharah, age 81, of Scotttown, Ohio, formerly of 2108 South Kanawha Street Beckley, died Tuesday January 19, 2010, at the St. Mary�s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Born on December 29, 1928, at Glen Daniel, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albany and Maude Walls Milam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her her husbands, George Kellman and Phillip Bsharah, by a brother, Albany �Bill� Milam Jr., and by her only niece Pamela Cabe.
Mrs. Bsharah was a 1946 graduate of Trap Hill High School, and was a graduate of Beckley College. She was formerly employed at the Raleigh County National Bank in the loan department. She was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Beckley, where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. She was an avid golfer and loved to walk.
Mrs. Bsharah is survived by a cousin, Patricia Daniels, and her husband Laurent of Scotttown, Ohio; a great nephew, James Cabe of McMurray, Pa.; great nieces, Danette Croaston and her husband James of Morgantown, W.Va., and Amy Wateska and her husband Joseph of South Point, Pa. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Phyllis Bsharah of Atlanta, Ga., and a step son, Andy Bsharah and his wife Kathy of Beckley.
Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 200 Virginia St., Beckley, on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Eric L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today, Saturday at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Vernon L. Cole
WINONA � Vernon L. �Smokie� Cole, 65, went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2010.
Born February 6, 1944, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Vernon and Edith Idell Cole. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Cole and Andrew Cole, and one sister, Wilma Cole.
He was a very loving, caring person and a special uncle.
Survivors include four sisters, Mary Cole of Winona, Betty Harrell of Winona, Wanda Pridemore of Redding, Calif., and Cheryl Sears of Dacula, Ga.; four brothers, Robert (Barbara) Cole of West Seneca, N.Y., Charles (Kathy) Cole of Hamburg, N.Y., James (Connie) Cole of Winona, and Donald M. (Carol) Cole of Winona; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010, at Keeney�s Creek Baptist Church, Winona, with the Pastor Joe Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Jeannette Cemetery, Lookout.

Lois E. Crook Freshour
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. � Lois E. Crook Freshour, 85, of Hartman Lane, Greeneville, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at her home after a long illness.
Born Nov. 15, 1924, in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Lenna Willis Farley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Crook of Jumping Branch, and her husband of 30 years, Maynard E. Freshour of Greeneville; a brother, James R. Farley and a sister, Kathern Brooks.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church at Sunnyside as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and helped with many church functions as her health would permit.
Lois was past State Commander of the Women�s Auxillary Disabled American Veterans Association, and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
Survivors include a sister, Janet Zutaut of Crab Orchard; two sons, James Crook and his wife and special caregiver, Essie, of Hartman Lane, and John Crook and wife, Linda, of Limestone, Tenn.; three grandsons: Edward C. Crook of Shady Spring, J.W. Crook of Telford, Tenn., and Shawn Crook of Telford; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Nancy Ealey.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, 125 Idletime Dr., Greeneville, with the Pastor Martha Beamer officiating. Burial will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens, Greeneville, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Jackie �Buddy� Wilson, Jon Crook, Shawn Crook, Bobby Zutaut, Allen Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Laughlin Health Care and Johnson City Medical Center Hospice and the members of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Greeneville.

Carl J. Jenkins
ASHBURN, Va. � Carl J. Jenkins, 71, a beloved brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into rest on the morning of Jan. 21, 2010, in Arlington, Va. after a short illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1938, at Gauley Bridge, W.Va., he was the son of the late Benford Jenkins of Gauley Bridge and White Sulphur Springs; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Darnell of Northern, Va.; his beloved mother, Nora Jenkins of White Sulphur Springs, only 21 before his death, and his precious Jewel and wife, Dianna Jenkins in 1980. Their reunion will be joyous.
He lived most of his life in Fayette County and was employed by Allied Coal Company as a truck driver before relocating to the Northern Virginia area.
Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie O�Dell and husband, Jeryl of Ashburn, Va. and Carla Cruickshank and husband, Alan of Fairfax, Va.; two granddaughters, Dianna Jeglum and Andrea O�Dell, both of Ashburn, Va. and one great-granddaughter, Victoria Grace Jeglum of Ashburn, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Ann Teubert of Lewisburg and Linda Lou Jenkins of White Sulphur Springs and brother, Robert R. Jenkins of Annandale, Va.

Eva Faye Meadows, 94 years old, expired January 20, 2010, at Raleigh General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born July 16, 1915, in Raleigh County, the daughter of Mont and Ida Bell Phillips. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lomis J. Meadows in 1984; and two infant children, Richard and Nell Sue.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Rimes and husband, Jerry of Richardson, Texas, Diane Thacker and husband, Mike of Shady Spring, and Judy Derby and husband Bill of Johnson City, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Todd Lilly of Beaver, Tim Lilly and wife, Christy of Cool Ridge, Dr. Terri Scott and husband, Eric of Conroe, Texas, Jeff Derby of Johnson City, Tenn, and Alan Rimes of Richardson, Texas; great grandchildren, Brittany Lilly and Amber Lilly of Beaver, Alyssa Lilly and Cole Burdette of Cool Ridge, Leslie Derby of Johnson City, Tenn., and James and Emma Scott of Conroe, Texas.
She was a member of the Jones Memorial Baptist Church, she was an avid flower gardener and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Jones Memorial Baptist Church located at 401 Allen Avenue, Beckley.

John N. Meadows
John N. Meadows, 69, of Beckley, passed away January 20, 2010, at his home.
Born February 28, 1940, in Beckley, he was the son of Basile and Mary Harvey Meadows.
Mr. Meadows was a 1958 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School; he attended Columbia Technical College where he obtained his degree in Architectural Drafting. He then joined his father and grandfather in the construction field. John was responsible for the first shopping center in Beckley; until the late 1990�s, John and his sons continued building in Southern West Virginia.
John was a Beckley Jaycee for 15 years, during this time he was drawn to community service and never lost the love for community. The Jaycees honored him with the JCI Senator�s Award. His other hobbies included Street Rods, Drag Racing, and NASCAR.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patricia Kidd Meadows, whom he married January 22, 1960; two sons, John Meadows and wife, Robin of Princewick, and David of Woodstock, Ga.; a daughter, Melissa Smith and husband, Lloyd of Rosewell, Ga.; three grandchildren, Nicholas and Claire Smith and Jason Sell; one brother, Steven Meadows and wife, Linda of Lynchburg, Va.; and his pets, �Moochie� and �Taz.�
John has donated his body to the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University. In keeping with John�s wishes there will be no services.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Gift Registry of West Virginia in Morgantown, Hospice of Southern West Virginia, or the Raleigh County Humane Society.

CLARKSBURG � Samuel R. Sergeon, 30, of Clarksburg, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
Mr. Sergeon was a 1997 graduate of Richwood High School. He was an Army veteran.
He was a good son and loving father. He loved the outdoors, was a free spirit, an artist and a musician, and he loved people and would help anyone who needed help.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bud Rush.
Survivors include his companion, Lindsey Boggs of Clarksburg; a son, Christian Sergeon of Elkins, W.Va.; two daughters, Isabella Sergeon of Elkins and Cayden Boggs of Clarksburg. Also surviving are his parents, Sheila and Tim Meadows of Nettie, W.Va.; two brothers, Christopher Sergeon of Morgantown, W.Va., and Mitchell Sergeon of Huntington, W.Va.; a half brother, Bucky Sergeon of Charleston, W.Va.; and a sister, Rebecca Jones of Richwood, W.Va.; two half sisters, Debbie Nichols of Lizemores, W.Va., and Dee Dee Bennett of Shady Spring; his maternal grandmother, Rita Rush of Craigsville, W.Va., and paternal grandparents, Robert and Sandra Meadows.
