Elizabeth Karen ‘Libby’ Lilly
FLAT TOP — Elizabeth Karen “Libby” Lilly, age 59, of Flat Top, WV, passed away at the Charleston Area Medical Center General Division on Friday, September 28, 2012, following a sudden illness.
Libby was born on March 12, 1953, in Florida, and was the daughter of the late Jack Lambert and Florence Pomeroy Lambert.
Libby was the owner and operator of Haircrafting Beauty Salon in Shady Spring, and had been a licensed beautician for over 25 years. She was a member of the Church of God Family Worship Center in Beckley, and enjoyed refinishing antiques and playing with her dog Sarah.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Ronnie Lilly, four children, Hal Stewart and his wife Danielle of Hurricane, Ann-Marie McGinnis and her husband Patrick of Kernersville, North Carolina, Justin Stewart of Beckley, and Sabrina Carter and her husband Nathan of Valdosta, Georgia.
Her brother Doug Lambert of Baltimore, Maryland, eight grandchildren, Morgan Stewart, Paige Stewart, Brooke Stewart, Blaine Matherly, Terri McGinnis, Shaye McGinnis, Juniper Stewart, and Landon Cole Carter.
A memorial service will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of Elizabeth K. “Libby” Lilly on Monday, October 1, 2012, at 8 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Ken Wright officiating. Friends and family may gather together at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday. Private burial of her cremains will follow on Tuesday at the Lilly Family Cemetery on the Moye-Lilly Road at Flat Top, WV. On Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, the angels came to take Rosa Mills to her heavenly home at the Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC. She was in her 83rd year.
She was the second of nine children. Rosa Mae Meadows Mills was born in Barn, WV, on May 2, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Ina Meadows.
Sadly her husband Ralph, daughter-in-law Barbara Mills and grandson Michael Mills have preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons Danny Mills and wife Lupe of Goose Creek, SC, and Jimmy Mills and wife Pamela of Beaver, WV, grandsons Jason Mills of Beaver, WV, and Steven Mills (her caregiver) of Columbia, SC, granddaughter Jessica Mills, great-granddaughter Brianna, sisters Lena Mills of Beckley, Doris Graham of Odd, brothers Thomas Meadows and wife Barbara, Clifton Meadows, James Meadows all of Mentor, OH, Charles Meadows and wife Janice of Swansea, SC, Landon Meadows and wife Fredia of Cool Ridge, WV, Roy Meadows and wife Sally of Odd, WV, and lots of nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Vera Walker of Odd, WV.
When we remember Rosa, we will remember how she loved flowers, gardening, cooking and how she loved her church very much and her brothers and sisters in Christ. Everyone that knew her loved her.
Pallbearers will be Paul Mills, Jr., David Graham, John Graham, Michael Walker, Jason Walker and Jason Mills.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1st, at Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church on Egeria Road at Flat Top where she was a charter member for many years. Officiating will be Pastor Arthur Dangerfield. Burial will follow at the Mills Family Cemetery on Egeria Road.
