Charles B. Anderson

SMITHVILLE, Ohio — Charles B. Anderson, age 71, of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at his residence, following a short illness.

He was born on May 13, 1941, in Prince, W.Va., the son of James and Helen (McKay) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Brenda S. Forren on July 12, 1969, in Beckley. She survives.

He had been a resident of Wayne County for 43 years and was previously employed at the former Orrville Products Co. and Wellman Friction Products in Medina, Ohio. He retired in 2009.

Charles enjoyed fishing, playing cards and his computer. He was an avid follower of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and the West Virginia University Mountaineers. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in sporting activities. Charles was a fixture at the gate collecting tickets for the football games at Smithville.

In addition to his wife, Brenda, he is survived by one son, Charles D. (Kelly) Anderson of Smithville; daughters, Belinda Dale (Mike) Tackett of Marshallville, Ohio, and Rhonda (Kephes) Larkin-Copper of Church Hill, Md.; eight grandchildren, Courtney Anderson (fiancé Brad Knight), Ian and A.J. Anderson, Chase and Alicia Tackett, Jaime Larkin, Edward and Kate Collins; great-grandchildren, Zacary Larkin and Khloe Anderson-Knight; brothers, Jim Bob (Nancy) Anderson of Hartley, Del., Jack (Carol) Anderson of Clifton Forge, Va., David (Ruth) Anderson of Chuluota, Fla., Alexander Anderson of Prince, W.Va., and Howard Anderson of Beckley, WV; sisters, Agnes (Steve) Hicks and Geritzi (Rick) Carlton, both of Clifton Forge, VA, and Brenda (Elmer) Wooleyhand of Smyrna, DE; mother-in-law, Eleanor Forren of Beckley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete Forren, Glenda Donitzen, Bobby Joe (Virginia) Forren, all of Beckley, Jerry (Theresa) Forren of Cross Lanes, W.Va., Linda (Jerry) Huffman of Wilkesboro, N.C., Gail (Rahn) Pittman of Elkhart, Ind., and Harold Forren of Smithville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Bill Forren, and a sister, Jeannie Bell Grubb.

Services will be held at Ambassador Baptist Church, 620 Trease Road, Wadsworth, Ohio, on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Decker officiating. Burial will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, Ohio.

Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, Ohio, on Sunday, from 3 to 6 p.m.
