Gerald David Bragg Sr.
SCARBRO — Gerald David Bragg, Sr., age 73, of Scarbro, WV, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, at his residence.
Born September 21, 1939, at Wriston, WV, he was the son of the late Edward and Nora Woolwine Bragg.
Gerald was a retired coal miner having work for Maple Meadow Mining as a miner operator and was a member of the UMWA. He was also a licensed electrician and served his country with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Jenkins, and by a brother, Luther Bragg.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Carol Dilley Bragg of Scarbro, his daughter, Lisa Smith and her husband Ralph of Scarbro, and by his son, Gerald David Bragg, Jr., of Charleston, WV, by his seven brothers and sisters, Edward Bragg and Fred Bragg, both of Fayetteville, WV, Nancy Bragg, Sandy Bragg King, Timothy Bragg, Linda Phillips and Kathy Treadway, all of Wriston, WV. Also surviving are his four grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Lee Dunbar officiating. In honoring Gerald’s wishes, he will be cremated following services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013.

FAYETTEVILLE — Ella Elaine Olds Cantley, 61, of Fayetteville, WV, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home.
Born May 27, 1951, at Fayetteville, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Dolly Evans Olds.
She was a homemaker.
Ella was a member of the Crooked Run Community Church.
A sister, Margaret Ruff, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold Russell Cantley; two daughters, Terri Cantley of Fayetteville and Samantha Akers and husband, Charles, of Fayetteville; four brothers, Robert Olds, George Olds, Johnny Olds and David Olds; and a sister, Georgia Fitzwater.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jessica Hayner, Jaclyn Hayner, Morgan Akers and Matison Akers.
Funeral services will be on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Barbara Aurednik officiating. Burial will be at Cantley Cemetery, Oak Hill.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, on Sunday, February 24, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Joe Daniel ‘Danny’ Crawford
PETERSTOWN — Joe Daniel “Danny” Crawford, 62, of Street Rod Drive, Peterstown, WV, passed away February 21, 2013, in Roanoke, VA.
Born March 19, 1950, in Wikel, WV, he was a son of Frank Crawford and the late Alice Wanda Raines Crawford. Danny had operated Crawford’s Garage since 1970. He was a State Representative for the National Street Rod Association. His hobbies included antique cars and Gold Wing Motorcycles.
In addition to his father Danny is survived by his wife Linda Miller Crawford of the home, two stepchildren Ronald Lee Tiller of Narrrows, VA, and Rhonda Cable of Christiansburg, VA, one brother Dale Crawford of Peterstown and his fiancee Gayle Whitt. 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside with pastor Michael Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Cemetery in Ballard, WV. In honor of Danny, friends are ask to bring their antique cars and motorcycles to his funeral.

Helen Farris Hayes
Helen Farris Hayes passed away Friday, February 22, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Jamile Salem Farris.
Helen attended local schools, and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Beckley College. She was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, The Shepherd’s Center, and served as a volunteer with Raleigh General Hospital for thirty years. She was a past member of the Beckley Women’s Club, Black Knight Country Club, and White Oak Country Club in Oak Hill. Helen was an avid golfer and bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hayes, on June 11, 1991; sisters Alice Lynch, Isabel Farris, and brothers Felix Farris, Joseph Farris, Elmer Farris, Dr. James Farris, and Dr. Frederick Farris.
She is survived by sisters Evelyn Farris of Beckley, Florence Boisse of Manchester, New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Beckley on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Father Babu Joseph Elamturuthil officiating. A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the services.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Juanita Virginia “Tuckie” Hughes, 74, of Helen passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in a Charleston hospital following a long illness.
Born October 15, 1938, at Helen, she was the daughter of the late Miles and Virgie (Gross) Smith.
Juanita was the owner and operator of Tuckies Place for 13 years in Allen Junction.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Michelle Foley and her husband, William, of Mocksville, NC; one son, Michael Darienzo and his wife Shelby of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters, Margie Mullins and her husband, Bill, of Cleveland, OH, and Peggy Hensley of Cleveland, OH; one brother, Leo Smith and his wife, Patty, of Rhodell; and four grandchildren, Jerriaa Foley, Michael Darienzo, Rachelle Darienzo, and Ryan Darienzo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at Rhodell Church of God with Rev. Gary Eskins officiating. Burial will follow in the Slab Fork Cemetery, Slab Fork.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

INGRAM — Lodema Ingram went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 22, 2013, following a long illness.
Born January 16, 1941, at Quinwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Annie Virginia Cox and Stanley C. Taylor. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Kay Ingram; a sister, Roberta Angle, and three brothers, Nelson Taylor, Norman “Buck” Taylor and Thornton “Hubie” Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Ingram of Rainelle, WV; a daughter Amy Ingram of Beckley; and a brother, James Taylor of Ypsilanti, MI.
A 1959 graduate of Crichton High School, Lodema was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years and served as postmaster of the Quinwood Post Office until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the McCross Baptist Church and the Quinwood branch of the Rebekkah Lodge. She was a former board member of the Friends of the Quinwood Library and was an active community volunteer with organizations such as the Quinwood Firemenettes, the Quinwood Ambulance Service and the Concerned Citizens of Quinwood.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel in Rainelle, with the Reverend Bennie Kenney officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

RAINELLE — Danny K. McCoy, 60, of Crosier Road, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, following a long illness.
Born September 22, 1952, at Richwood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Berlin B. and Altha Kathryn Fleming McCoy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Jane Simms in 2009.
Danny was a surveyor by trade and loved to work on cars.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Carolyn Wilson (David) of Hudson, NC, Chrissy Harris (Justin) of Charleston, SC, Kelly McCoy of McRoss, WV; 2 sisters: Alice Taylor of Charmco, WV, and Sharon Loudermilk of Rainelle, WV; 1 brother: David “Yogi” McCoy of Rainelle, WV; 5 grandchildren: Brittany, Brooke and Bethany Wilson, Levi and Cash Harris.
Burial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Pastor Kermit Hunter, Jr., officiating.

WHITESVILLE — Tilford Middleton, age 82, passed away on February 22, 2013, at his residence in Whitesville.
He was born August 12, 1930, in Grays, KY, to Pete and Bertie (Owens) Middleton.
Tilford is survived by two brothers, Larry Middleton (Polly) and Gary Church (Pat) of Monroe, MI, one nephew, Dewayne Middleton, two nieces, Misty Frank and Tammy Church all of Monroe, MI.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by one brother Elijah Middleton.
Tilford was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013, at noon at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitesville, WV, with the Rev. Gary Maynor officiating.

PRINCETON — Boyce Wayne Sizemore, 66, of Princeton died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born February 2, 1947, at New Richmond, he was the son of the late Charley H. Sizemore and Rosa Gay Blankenship Sizemore Gill.
He was of the Baptist faith and a 1965 graduate of Hinton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a coal miner for many years and was later a Mine Safety Inspector. He was a former long haul truck driver for WLA Trucking. He was a former supervisor at the Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA. He was the owner and operator of the Athens Farmer’s Market until he became disabled. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Allen Kanode; and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three children, Annie Sizemore-Martin and husband Robert of Arnett, Becky Kanode Crockett and husband Ron of Princeton and Rodney Sizemore and wife Kimberly of Lashmeet; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Kanode and her fiancé David Doss, Elizabeth Martin, Emilee Martin, Esabelle Martin, Courtney Farmer, Miranda Sizemore, Caleb Sizemore and Madison Sizemore; four great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Maleah, Savannah, Braylon, and two on the way; three sisters, Aline Shrewsberry of Fayette County, Willa Mae Haynes of Lashmeet and Georgia Shrewsberry of Bud; one sister-in-law, Rosemary Sizemore of Pineville; the mother of his children and faithful friend, Dora. He is also survived by his best friend and companion, his dog, Sassy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Charles Farmer and Rev. Larry Cecil officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by the WV National Guard Honor Guard.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Sizemore and Braylon Doss.
