Bettie Imogene Holcomb
ANSTED — Bettie Imogene Holcomb, 84, of Ansted, formerly of Lookout, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 29, 2012, following an extended illness.
Born March 21, 1928, at Victor, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Bettie M. Brown Robinson.
Mrs. Holcomb was a homemaker and a member of the Ansted Church of God.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold B. Holcomb, Sr., one son Gary Robinson, a grandson, Edward Lee Jordon, sister Annabelle Bess and a brother Norman Higgins.
Those left to cherish her memory include 4 daughters: Betty Casey and husband Arnold of Nedrow, NY, Crystal Jordon and husband Eddie of Sissonville, Dee Dee Prather and husband Danny of Ansted, and Treasure Vest and husband Daniel of Ansted. 5 sons: Byron Blunt and wife Beckie of Travelers Rest, SC, Arnold Holcomb Jr. and wife Stacy of Oak Hill, Kevin Holcomb of Sissonville, Bip Holcomb and wife Cheryl of Ansted, Garth Holcomb and wife Trish of Mt. Nebo, 33 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the Nuttall Cemetery, Lansing, with her grandson Tyrel Blunt officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to John Hagee Ministries, P.O. Box 1400, San Antonio, TX 78295-1400, for the return of the Jews to Israel.

BALTIMORE, Md. — Jerry Ray Hughes, 65, of Baltimore, Md., passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, with Barry Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, Va. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home.

Marilyn Albert Lemon
TRUE — Marilyn Albert Lemon, 54, of True went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center following a short illness.
Born April 21, 1958, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Morris Thomas “Pete” and Lois Epperly Albert.
She was formerly an assistant manager at Rite Aid in Hinton and was most recently employed at H&R Block in Princeton, a member of James Chapel United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Fellowship and had a big part in fundraising and church dinners. Marilyn was a loving mom, wife and sister who enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 21 years, Donald “Donnie” Lemon; one son, Howard Lemon both at home; one brother, Ricky Albert of True; one sister, Patricia Meadows and husband Buck of True; two nieces, Kasi Meadows and Shannon Meadows; three great-nephews, Jason, Tyler and Levi; one great-niece, Makaylah, all whom she loved and spoiled as she would her own grandchildren; many cousins, aunts, neighbors and her H&R Block family in Princeton that were her “Buddies.”
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Johnny Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Wynn-Houchins Cemetery at True.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Shawn DeWayne Rucker, 32, of Beckley died Thursday, September 27, 2012.
Born July 10, 1980, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Gregory Rucker Sr. and Deborah Rucker (Milton) Percell, all of Reidsville, NC.
He was preceded in death by a son, RaShawn Anthony Rucker; two brothers, Gregory Rucker Jr. and Jerome Leon Rucker; aunt, Cynthia Bonds; uncle, Michael Frances; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents.
In addition to his parents, he will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by three daughters, Shawnte` and Jamia Rucker and Ashante Johnson, all of Beckley, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Lorenzo “Tutz” Anderson, James “Pank” Pankey and Raushan “Jellybread” McDougald.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Heart Of God Ministries, 1703 So. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Pastor Sandra Jackson, Rev. Waymon Rucker Jr. and Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Evna A. Whitt
CORINNE — Evna Athlene (Harmon) Whitt, 89, of Corinne, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, at her residence following a long illness.
Born April 17, 1923, at Tommy Creek, she was the daughter of the late John Harmon and Sylvinia (Prince) Harmon Anglin.
Mrs. Whitt was a homemaker and a member of the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Harod “Hap” Whitt; a son, David Whitt; a grandson, Robert Whitt; and two brothers, Carlos and Orville Harmon.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Susie Hill of Beechwood; two grandchildren, Stefanie Hill of Beckley and James Hill of Texas; and a sister, Velma Terry of Crab Orchard.
Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with Rev. Gilbert Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
