Linda Miller Stewart

OAK HILL — Our loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, Linda  Miller Stewart, 65, of Oak Hill, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.

Born September 1, 1947, at Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Elaine McDaniel Miller of Hedgesville, W.Va. and the late Alvin F. Miller.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the LifeBridge Assembly of God, Oak Hill where she served as church secretary and had a great passion for the mission work. 

Linda worked for the Fayette County Public Libray from which she retired in 2010. 

An avid traveler, she never missed a state park. She loved gardening and was a member of the Garden Club in Oak Hill. 

Loved by many — she was cherished by all who knew her.

A brother, George A. Miller preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Wayne Stewart; three sons, Chuck Stewart and wife, Jennifer, David Stewart and wife, Erica and Jonathan Stewart; one brother, Gary W. Miller; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Stewart and Tom Stewart; mothers-in-law, Mary Stewart and Martha Stewart and her grandchildren, Seth, Kaden, MyKayla, Caitlyn, Maraeya and Lane.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the LifeBridge Assembly of God in Oak Hill, with Pastor Joe Hoggard and Rev. Shirlie Watson officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.

Visitation will be held at LifeBridge Assembly of God. Oak Hill on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Clarence W. ‘Cag’ Toler

KOPPERSTON — Clarence W. “Cag” Toler, 77, of Kopperston, entered into eternal peace with his Lord and Savior and received his Heavenly reward on June 22, 2013.

Born October 9, 1935, in Lorado, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie and Pearl Toler.

Cag graduated from Oceana High School and attended Pineville Trade School and completed his electrician degree through West Virginia University. He served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Eastern Peabody Coal for 35 years. He married Lula Belle Graham and they were married for 55 years.

Cag loved his church choir and cherished each member of the congregation at Delilah Methodist Church. He was a member for 51 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lonnie Toler Jr., Harold Gene Toler, Emery Toler and Donald Toler and one sister, Daphine Dean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lula Belle Toler; his three daughters, Diana Massey and husband, Harold of Oceana, Tammy Wilson and husband, DA of Elizabeth and Kimberly Adkins and husband, Mark of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Bridget Hatfield and husband, Ricky Hatfield, Charity Massey, Tabatha Massey, Johnathan Massey, Lauren Shumate and husband, Jeremy, Alex Wilson and Alexis Adkins; three great-grandchildren, Hallie Hatfield, Whittney Hatfield and Kelsey Hatfield; two brothers, Carnell Toler and wife, Beth of Daniels and Raynell Toler and wife, Rita of Oak Hill; and one sister, Helena Brown of Clear Fork.

A Special thanks to Cleveland Clinic physicians and nurses, who provided love and care beyond the call of duty. Also to Family Healthcare physicians, Jeff Prichard and Jennifer Stewart for providing our family loving care in a time of need.

A celebration of Cag’s life will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Evans Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David White officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, June 26, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Bostic, Randy Cook, Jimmy Easter, Dean Rollins, Eddie Samples, Chris Toler, Jack Whitten and Gary Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be David Mayberry and Charlie Meadows.

WRISTON — James Lee Varner, 62, of Wriston, formerly of Westland, Mich., died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the home of his mother.
