Doug Bolen

Aaron Douglas Bolen Sr., 68, of Josephine, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home.

Born July 6, 1944, at Josephine, W.Va., he was the son of the late Carl and Aldena Lilly Bolen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gracie Wilson, and his Mother-in-law, Irene Lawson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years Julia A. Kelley Bolen; daughters, Teresa Wilcox and husband Andy of Cool Ridge, Patty Bolen and fiance Chris Ellison of Josephine; sons Aaron “Dougie” Bolen Jr. and wife Heather of Josephine, Eric Jay Fielder and wife Terri of Pemberton; grandchildren, Chrystal and Justin Massie, Stephanie Thompson and Beth Hammons, Joshua and Justin Thompson, Chance, Audri and Bailee Bolen, Brianna Ellison and Krista Hughes; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Summer, Michael Bolen and Gabrielle Massie; a brother-in-law, Arlie Wilson; sister-in-law, Debbie Jo Sullivan; and two nephews Donald Abner and Billy Abner.

Doug was a retired coal miner of 26 years. He spent his time enjoying the outdoors and fishing; however, his greatest joy was his family.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Melton Mortuary with the Rev. Roger Tolliver officiating. Friends and family may gather from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Andy Wilcox, Justin Massie, Beth Hammons, Chris Ellison, Donnie Abner, Billy Abner and Daniel Abner.

Gary Lavon Boley

VICTOR — Gary Lavon Boley, 73, of Victor, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, W.Va.

Born March 28, 1940, in Nicholas County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Denver and Sarah Tully Boley.

He was an elder in the Ansted Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This was the focus of Gary’s life.

He left the Hico area when he graduated from high school and spent most of his working life in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. Some of those years were spent owning and managing Gary’s Transmission Shop in Berea, Ohio. He finished his working years as a school bus driver in Strongsville, Ohio, and Fayette County, W.Va.

Gary married Marjorie Mitch in 1958. This union bore two children. After Marge’s death, he married Chandos Casteen Boley.

Survivors include his wife, Chandos Smith Casteen Boley; daughter, Laura Snowberger and husband, Bob, of Strongsville, Ohio; son, Gary Boley Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Timothy Boley of Hico; sister, Sharon Chaney of Strongsville, Ohio; three stepchildren, Larry, Leonard and Brenda Casteen; two grandchildren, Jacob and Joe Snowberger; and two great-grandchildren Landen and Dayton Snowberger.

Mr. Boley was cremated. A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall in Mount Lookout, with Speaker Keniman Belcher officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
