Stella C. ‘Betty’ Kennedy
BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — Stella C. “Betty” Kennedy, age 74, of Blountville, TN, passed away on October 30, 2012, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Washington, PA, a daughter to the late Ernest and Stella Rowe Chapman, and had been a resident of Bristol for around eight years.
Mrs. Chapman was a former nurse in West Virginia and was a member of Island Road Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Kennedy.
Survivors include: Children – Kathy Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy and wife Katina, Linda Coates and husband Joshua
Grandchildren – Frances Parmenter, Patty Coates, and Sarah Kennedy
Siblings – Ernest Chapman and wife Laura, Roberta Petro and husband Jim, Kathie Cook
Brother-in-law – Wayne Kennedy
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012, at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Kain officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 7:45 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the 2nd Harvest Food Bank or to the Association of Paralyzed Veterans.

Donald Ray Keyes Jr.
Donald Ray Keyes Jr. of Dorothy, WV, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the CAMC Memorial Division Hospital, Charleston, WV.
He was born December 9, 1958, at Charleston, WV, a son of the late Donald Ray Keyes Sr. and Louise Jones Keyes of Dorothy.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Evans.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Louise Jones Keyes of Dorothy; daughters Christine Foster and husband, Joe, Sherri Bowman and husband, Marky, a son, Michael Keyes; sisters, Vickie Bratcher and husband, Craig, and nephew, Nick and Ashley Bratcher, Peggy Massey Landers and husband, Jim, and nephews, Ben Massey and Erik Massey; grandchildren, Zachary Bowman, Maygen Harless, Kristopher Bowman, Calee Harless, Alexis Bowman and Nick Foster.
Donald had many friends and had requested that we all remember him for who he was in life.
On behalf of the Keyes family we would like to send a special thanks to CAMC Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they showed to Donald during his illness.
At the request of Donald there will be no services. The body was cremated.
Armstrong Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
