Bonnie Jean (Wiseman) Evans
RAINELLE — Bonnie Jean (Wiseman) Evans, 83, of Rainelle, West Virginia, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 30, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Wilson, North Carolina, following a long illness.
Born November 11, 1928, at Rainelle, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Charles and Kathleen Marcena Burns Wiseman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Karel F. Evans, in 2004, brother, “Sonny” Wiseman; brother-in-law, Ray Turner; and nephew, Jerry Turner.
Bonnie graduated from Rainelle High School in 1946, and from Charleston School of Business in 1947. She worked 40 years as the Office Manager for Appalachian Power Company.
Bonnie was a member of Rainelle United Methodist Church, the Rainelle Garden Club, the Red Hat Society, and served on Friends of the Rainelle Public Library. She was deeply loved and treasured by her family and friends, and by everyone whose lives she brightened with her sweet smile and generosity. Bonnie was a very special lady.
Those left to cherish her memory are a sister: Betty Jo Wiseman Turner of Greensboro, NC; 1 brother: Tom Wiseman (Sheila) of Wilson, NC; 2 stepsisters: Marilyn Bennett of Goodlettsville, TN, and Sharon Arnold (Dan) of Grassy Meadows, WV; 2 nephews: Steve Turner of High Point, NC, and Dustin Wiseman of Wilson, NC; 5 nieces: Dawn Wiseman Holloman of Wilson, NC, Jeanne Turner Spillers of Jamestown, NC, Lisa Evans Woodard of Alexandria, VA, Lori Turner of Charlotte, NC, Wendy Wiseman Barkley of Wilson, NC.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel of Rainelle, with Pastor Stanley Clark officiating. Entombment will follow at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
