Elizabeth Louise Logan
CINCINNATI, Ohio — Elizabeth Louise Logan, 92, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Beckley, died Sunday, October 21, 2012.
Born in Lenora, NC, on December 28, 1919, to the late John H. and Mary Ann Dixon-Boyce; she was one of six siblings.
She was a dedicated housewife and mother that put her family first all her life. She nurtured and raised eleven children, two that were not her own.
Elizabeth was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a choir member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William James Logan; sons, Andrew, Leonard, Johnny, Ray, and Beverly; brothers, George, Eli, and Leonard; and sisters, Pauline, Frances, and Margie.
She’s survived by her sons, William J. Logan, Jr., and Edward Leroy Venable, and daughters, Lorean Logan Woods, Betty Logan, and Mary Logan, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 55 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October, 30, 2012, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 142 Mool Avenue, Beckley, WV, with Rev. Nelson Staples III officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bernice R. Mills
Bernice R. Mills, 85, of Daniels, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 26, 2012.
Born May 23, 1927, in Calloway Heights, she was the daughter of the late Lois E. and Julia Mae Brammer.
She enjoyed gardening with her late husband of 32 years, William Elbert Mills. Before her retirement she was employed by W.T. Grants.
Bernice was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Daniels.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two nieces.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister-in-law, Pat Brammer; two special cousins, Larry Jones and Roger Jones; and her special friend and devoted caregiver, Audrey Daniels.
A service celebrating Bernice’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2012, in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating.
Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 11 a.m. until time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
