Margaret Aleene Massey
SINKS GROVE — Margaret Aleene Massey, 81, of Sinks Grove, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home.
Born December 1, 1931, at Fort Springs, she was a daughter of the late Clark M. and Mary Carter Burns.
Mrs. Massey was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon K. Massey; sisters, Lucille Brooks and Martha Ramsey; and brothers, Houston and Charlie Burns.
She is survived by five sons, John (Pamela) Massey of Sinks Grove, James (Evelyn) Massey of Alderson, Ricky Massey of Sinks Grove, Bud (Theresa) Massey of Alderson and Joseph (Beth) Massey of Wolf Creek; a sister Dolly Jane Waid of South Hill, VA; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte, with Rev. Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
Friends may call Monday, October 14, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ronceverte.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

LINDSIDE — Harriet Aliff Neel, 90, of Lindside, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with Barry Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, Va. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday.

Pamela Dawn Jones Pomeroy
HIX — Pamela Dawn Jones Pomeroy, 56, of Hix went home to be with her Lord Saturday, October 12, 2013, due to a battle with kidney cancer.
Born October 24, 1956, she was the daughter of Mary E. Dolin of White Sulphur Springs and the late Williams E. Jones of Alderson, WV. She was the stepdaughter of the late Garland W. Dolin of White Sulphur Springs.
Also preceding her in death was her first husband, J.R. O’Bryan of Hix, WV.
Survivors include her faithful, loving and caring husband, Jeff Pomeroy of Hix. Loving mother, Mary E. Dolin of White Sulphur Springs. Loving daughter, Bethany Dawn O’Bryan, and loving granddaughter, Jesse Dawn Stover of Hix. Two brothers, Danny Lee Jones and wife Donna and Charles Allen Jones and wife Gayle of Mechanicsville, VA. Several beloved nephews. Mother-in-law, Betty Jo O’Bryan, and sister-in-law, Linda Sue O’Bryan, both of Hix. A very special cousin, Kaylin Cales of Hickory, NC. Pam loved the kids in her Sunday School Class. She had known Elisabeth Ward the longest and considered her a special friend.
After graduating from Hinton High School, Pam went to work at the Summers County Court House as an office deputy and worked for the Summers County 911 center as a dispatcher for several years. After graduating from Concord College with a degree in Social Work, she began working for the Greenbrier District Department of Health and Human Resources. During her years with the department, she held various positions including child protective services, foster family home finding and adoption specialist before becoming unable to work due to her illness.
She loved and cared for all of those in her life. She was a wonderful and giving mother, grandmother, friend and wife. Her laughter, love and warmth will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her best and loved her most. Her religion and relationship with God was especially important to her. We know that though she will be missed, she will be at peace in Heaven and we will see her again.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at Hix with Pastor Benny Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the O’Bryan Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Adkins, Michael Adkins, Rich Hulmes, Allen Hunter, Dino Ward and Greg Richmond.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses of Hospice, Tammy and Heather. They kept her laughing and Pam kept them laughing with her “Pamerisms.” Also a special thanks to the staff at Bowers Hospice House who cared for her.
