Ellen Marie Argabright

CROSS LANES — Ellen Marie Argabright, 73, of Cross Lanes, formerly of Summersville, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with the Rev. Thomas Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Union Cemetery at Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Ouida Geraldine Brown

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — Ouida Geraldine Brown, of Christiansburg, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.

A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday,  Sept. 12, at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Radford. The family will receive friends from 3:45 to 5 p.m. and after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel UMC Church, 1060 Lovely Mt. Drive, Radford, VA 24141.

Eunice Faye Elkins Dangerfield

SCARBRO — Eunice Faye Elkins Dangerfield of Scarbro, born Dec. 15, 1931, died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday, September 7, 2013. She passed away surrounded by her immediate family: Kenneth Dangerfield, her husband of 64 years; her daughter Susan Smith of Oak Hill, W.Va. and Susan’s husband Gary; her daughter Kelli Dangerfield of Scarbro, WV; her son Kenneth Bruce Dangerfield of Morgantown, WV and his wife Vicki; her son Wesley Dangerfield of Charlotte, NC, and his wife, Mazie; and her son Barry Dangerfield of Bristol, TN, and his wife Linda.

Eunice grew up in Pax, WV, and lived most of her adult life in Scarbro, WV. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was active in the community, member of the Fayette County Black Lung Association, former Treasurer of the National Black Lung Association and helped to build walking paths in the area. She was a retired employee of Lilly’s Jewelers of Beckley, WV. She liked to cook and read in her spare time.

She is survived by her brother James Murdock and his wife Milda of Knoxville, TN; her brother Larry Murdock and his  wife Helen of Princeton, WV; her sister Sandra Burress and her husband William of Steubenville, OH, and her brother Carl D. Murdock and his wife Sue of Mt. Hope, WV, preceded in death by sister Pat Maynor and husband, Dillard from Detroit, MI.

She will be cremated, as she requested. A celebration of her life for close family will be held at a later date. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and she will be missed.
