Stephanie Lynn Anderson

Stephanie Lynn Anderson, age 32, of Beckley, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the home of her mother, Rita Anderson.

Born on October 31, 1980, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Rita Adkins Anderson of Beckley and Donald Anderson of Prince, W.Va., and was the stepdaughter of Jim Pack of Beckley.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and Jim Anderson and Agnes Adkins.

Stephanie was a former clerk at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, and was last employed at the Outback Steakhouse in Beckley.

Stephanie loved dancing, reading books, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors. She will be sadly missed by neighbors and friends.

Survivors, other than her parents, are a brother Alex David Anderson and companion Danielle Richmond of Shady Spring. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive. A very special friend, Tim Forren of Piney View.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gene Snuffer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Seigel Morris Counts, 78, of Henlawson, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan with the Rev. Glenn White Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dennis Lee Doss

WHARNCLIFFE — Dennis Lee Doss, 70, of Wharncliffe, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013.

Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, with the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby Heights, Pecks Mill. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a special service at 7 p.m.

Joyce Ramona Feehley

NEOLA — Joyce Ramona Feehley, 73, of Neola, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Neola Church of God with Pastor John Taylor officiating. Interment will be private for the family. There will be no visitation.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.



Betty M. Green

Betty M. Green, 77, of Maple Fork Road, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born May 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Jordan and Dollie Teel Jordan.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Malcomb D. Green, brothers Sonny Jordan and Crawford Jordan and one sister Virginia Stanevich.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Toni' James-Stover of Beckley and Dinah Radford and her husband Edwin of Beckley; her son Bruce McClung and partner Sandy Hawley of Beckley; seven grandchildren, Matthew Radford and wife Andrea, Felicia Puckett and husband John, Lee James, Mark McClung and wife Ashley, Adam James and wife Jill, Wes James and Zack Stover, four great-grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Addison, Eve, one sister Marie Frye and husband Bill and two brothers Jim Jordan and L.T. Jordan and wife Jeannie.

Betty was a very loving, gentle person who enjoyed her children, grandchildren and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She has left each one with very special memories that will last their lifetime.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 3 p.m. at High Lawn Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harmon Davis officiating and where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service. Entombment will be in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill.

James B. Hash Jr.

DANESE — James B. Hash Jr., 85, of Danese, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Kanawha Hospice Care, Charleston.

Born April 21, 1928, in Layland, he was the son of the late James B. Hash Sr. and Mary L. Hash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney K. Hash.

James attended Zickafoose Memorial Church and was a retired machinist.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Janice R. Wells Hash; daughter, Cassandra Hash-Cooper and husband, Joe; son James B. Hash III and wife, Vickie; two sisters Alta C. Smith and Shirley Adkins; granddaughter, Melanie S. Allen, and great-grandson Brackston C. Allen.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, with Rev. Jack Reeves and Rev. Sherman McCombs officiating.  

Friends may gather with the family Monday, September 9, 2013, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., West, Charleston, WV 25387-2536.

Danny Ray Hess, 38, of Midway, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013.

Vesta Louise Jenks

PINEVILLE — Vesta Louise Jenks, of Pineville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013.

A celebration of Vesta’s life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home.

Joseph Pilkington Jr.

Joseph Pilkington Jr., 81, of White Oak, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at his home.

Born on September 21, 1931, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Joseph Pilkington and Alma Hopkins Pilkington.

Mr. Pilkington was the retired owner and operator of Pilkington Garbage Disposal. Before he began his own business he was a former employee of Greenbrier Dairy, Sunbeam Bakery and Beckley Water Company. He was a resident of White Oak for most of his adult life. He enjoyed his work and in his spare time Mr. Pilkington loved to hunt.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ruth “Sally” Pilkington.

Survivors include his former wife, Jo Ann Pilkington Starr of Daniels; five children, Jo Ellen Murdock and her husband Phillip of White Oak, Jon Pilkington and his companion Vicki Strausbaugh of Craigsville, Va., Mary Ann Copeland and her husband Calvin of Cool Ridge, Karen Thompson and her husband Bryan of Cool Ridge and Andrea Sipes and her husband Johnny of White Oak; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Brian Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
