MARION STATION, Md. — Lucy Manning, 75, of Marion Station and formerly of West Virginia and Baltimore, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Stephenson, West Virginia, on March 31, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Mills Lester.
She was a factory worker at General Electric in Columbia, MD, retiring in 1985, and had been making her home in Marion Station since 1990.
She was a devoted member of the Crisfield Church of God where she enjoyed working in church functions and helping with numerous activities.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Manning of Marion Station; her son, Gene “Speedy” Manning, Jr., and wife Kathy of Severna Park, MD; two grandchildren, Hailey Manning and Tyler Manning of Severna Park; two brothers, Dillard Lester of Columbus, Ohio, and Gilbert Lester, Jr., and wife Sue of Beckley, West Virginia; two sisters, Joanne Brannen and husband Richard of Matoaka, West Virginia, and Mary Charlotte Carter of Slabfork, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Barbara Lester of Stephenson; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie Lester and Sherman Lester; a brother-in-law Roger Carter; and a sister-in-law, Florence Lester.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Harvey Tyler will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Crisfield Church of God. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

Ronald Dewayne Morris Sr.
LAKE WYLIE, S.C. — Ronald Dewayne Morris, Sr., age 74, of Lake Wylie, SC, died August 30, 2013, at University Place Nursing and Rehab Center, Charlotte, NC.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV.
Mr. Morris was born September 14, 1938, in Dakota, WV, to the late Albert Henry Morris, Sr., and Mayme Dickison Gore.
He was a Marshall University alumni and worked as a Systems Analyst for Owens-Illinois and Ingersoll-Rand. Mr. Morris loved the outdoors, serving 7 years as Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 259 in Perrysburg, OH. He enjoyed family vacations on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and lived in his RV on retirement, traveling from Maine to Texas and Key West to Alaska. Mr. Morris was a builder, handyman, and avid woodworker, completing many projects with his family. He held amateur radio license WB8ZIM/W4ZIM and was president of the TMRA radio club for several years. He had a sense of humor and a talent for helping people appreciate life, history, and the natural world.
Survivors are his wife Charlotte McKinney Morris, sons Ronald Dewayne Morris, Jr., and wife Virginia of Lake Wylie, SC; Timothy Madison Morris and wife Chris of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and daughter Meredith Ann Morris of Raleigh, NC, sisters Paula Conner of Warsaw, IN, and Rhea Halloran of Fort Wayne, IN, brothers Albert H. Morris, Jr., of Lake Wylie, SC, and Eric Morris of Summerville, SC, and new grandson Owen Alexander Morris.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org) in their quest to find a cure.
