Johnny A. Wallace
Johnny A. Wallace, 65, of Odd, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 10th, 2013, in a local hospital after a short illness.
He was born at Odd, WV, November 19th, 1947, the son of the late Harry and Lorena Wallace. He was loved so very much by his family and many, many friends. He was a 1965 graduate of Stoco High School. Johnny served in the U.S. Army and also Vietnam. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1380, of Manassas, Virginia, and he also loved going to the Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes with friends and family. Johnny was known to his friends as “The GOV.”
Those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Shirley Snuffer and husband, Ronald “Junk” Snuffer of Beckley, WV, Norma Thompson and husband Thomas, of Mineral, VA, Linda Davis of Woodbridge, VA; one brother, Anthony “Tony” Wallace and wife Doreen of Manassas, VA; one niece, Regina May and husband Charles; four nephews, Keith Thompson and wife Chris, Kenny Thompson and wife Lori, Greg Davis and wife Kim and Anthony Davis; six great-nieces and one great-nephew; a host of cousins and many friends.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13th, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Rev. Donnie Fink officiating. Following the service Johnny will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Keaton, Ken Brogan, James Shrewsbury, Chris Brogan, Russell Thompson, and Pete Brogan.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 1:30 till service time at the funeral home.
