Hubert Lloyd Aliff
Hubert Lloyd Aliff, 81, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2013, in the Beckley VA Medical Center, following a long illness.
Born April 18, 1931 in Helen, he was the son of the late Woodrow Aliff and Ethel Bolen Satterlee.
Lloyd was a veteran of the United State Air Force. He worked for General Motors in Grand Rapids, Mich., for 30 years. Following his retirement he returned home to Raleigh County. He enjoyed woodworking and visiting his family in Florida and feeding the deer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sandra “Tudy” Aliff, his daughter Wendy K. Rodriguez, and son Joseph Aliff, his brother Waldo Aliff, his sister Debra Meadows, and his step-mother Madeline Aliff.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Wayne “Keith” Aliff, Wanda Kim McGinnis and husband Gary, and Wesley K. Alliff and wife Susan. His grandchildren and great–grandchildren. His brothers and sisters Eva Marie Clay, Gretna Jean Adkins, Anita Louise Williams and husband Roger, Wayne “Kescle” Aliff and wife Ama, Venetta Jane Broyles, James L. Aliff and his wife Sandy, and a special brother Marn, and a host of nieces and nephews and beloved friends.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church at Sweenysburg, with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Inurnment will take place in the Williams Family Cemetery at Cirtsville, following the service.
