Ruth Anderson

MULLENS — Velma Ruth Anderson, 79, of Mullens, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Princeton Health Care Center, ending her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born May 28, 1932, at Beech Fork, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dora (Eagle) Whitson.

Ruth was a homemaker, previously employed by Mullens Bowling Center, Rebel Canteen, Steele Drug, and J and J Supermarket, and was a past member of the Mullens Clown Club. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene “Dick” Whitson, Doug Whitson, J.D. Whitson, and Bud Whitson; three sisters, Delores Barrett, Joyce Whitson, and Marie Dunford; and her life long friend, Truby Sparks.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Henry C. Anderson Jr.; a son, J.C. Anderson and his wife, Judy of Princeton; a daughter, Loretta Pauley and her husband, Mike of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; a sister, Jeanette “Nettie” Warf of Corinne; eight grandchildren, Dr. Jeremy Morgan, Merrick Rice, Justin Morgan, Brittany Gay, David Anderson, Alese Jewell, Jabez Ryan Anderson, and Jordan Anderson; three great grandchildren and her care giver and special friend, Cathy Webb.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be noon on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Tankersley Funeral Home, Chapel with Rev. Gilbert Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
