Earl Wiley Moon

Mr. Earl Wiley Moon, 63, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, following a long illness.

Born August 11,1950, in Mead, W.Va., he was the son of the late Wiley Moon and Ida Mae Mabry. 

Earl served eight years in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Stoco High School in Coal City, W.Va. He received the Lord at an early age.

He was preceded in death by his father Wiley Moon, grandmother, Josphine Radford; a uncle, Earl and a aunt, Roberta Davis.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his mother, Ida Mae Mabry of Illinois; step mother, Betty Moon of Virginia; his beloved Lisa Cook of Beckley; his two sons, Germaine (Connie) Smith of Illinois and Gregory (Monica) Moon of Mississippi; three daughters Yolonda Moon of Mississippi; Shameka and Taneysha Hairston, Michelle and Kanisha Cook, all of Beckley; five sisters, Brenda (Willie) Phipps of Illinois, Kathy Davis and Tracie Moon of Virginia, Dora Jackson and Lisa Jackson of Beckley; three brothers, Marvin (Kathy) Davis of Illinois, Michael (Marie) Moon and Rodney Moon, both of Virginia; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and love ones.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Free and Independent Holiness Church, 106 Seventh St., Beckley. Officiating will be Elder Phylander Moon, the Rev. Onnie Cook and Bishop Ernest Stewart. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Garden, Beckley. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 32 of Beckley.

Family hour will be one hour prior to services.

Lisa Miller Morgan

Lisa Miller Morgan, 51, currently of Huntington and formerly of Brenton and Augusta, W.Va., has transitioned from this Earthly world to her Heavenly home.

Born July, 24, 1962, in Welch, W.Va. to the proud parents of James E. Sonny (Son) Miller and Margaret E. “Margie” Trivett Miller formerly of Chilhowie, Va.

In her youth, she attended Mill Creek FWB and Augusta United Methodist Church. Lisa was the former owner of the Movie Time Video in Brenton. She was a member of the graduating class of 1980 at Hampshire High School in Romney, W.Va. and Baileysville High School in Brenton. Just a couple years ago, she earned Dean’s List Honors at WV Junior College in Charleston. 

Lisa joins family that has gone on before her — grandfathers, James “Jim” Miller, William Trivett and Basil “Tob” Miller, grandmothers, Agnes Hall Miller, Frankie Sullivan Trivett and Mildred “Millie” Miller, husband, Hansel Dale Morgan, son, James Matthew Miller, brothers, Joe and Roger, sister, EmmaJean, and many aunts, uncles and other dear family. 

Lisa is survived by her mother, Margie Miller, two children, Shannon Miller-Mace, her husband, Rob-Roy, and their son, Lisa’s first grandchild, Miller Mace, and Travis James Edward Miller, brother, Ronnie Miller, all of Huntington and Sisters, Patty Miller of Charleston, Sunny Gail Woolum and her husband Marty of Clearfork, Kathy Osborne of Ohio, step-son, Robert Dale Addison of Coal Mountain, mother-in-law and father-in-law Virgie and Lonnie Harper of Brenton and several aunts, uncles and many other family members. 

Friends and family may come together to share her memory at Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville, on Thursday, February 27th, from 6 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place at the family cemetery on Shannon Mill Creek Road in Brenton on Friday after formal services starting at 1 p.m. at Calfee Funeral Service with Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating.

Pallbearers will be close friends/family. The Family suggests any variety of live plants in lieu of cut flowers.
