Delbert Thomas Lewis

OAK HILL — Delbert Thomas Lewis, 84, of Oak Hill, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born May 27, 1929, at Witcher’s Creek, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Della White Lewis.

He was a retired concrete worker for Charleston Construction and was a member of the I.U.C.E. Local in Charleston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bell Smith Lewis, and a nephew, Jack Lewis Jr.

Survivors include one brother, Jack Lewis of Gulfport, Fla.; two sisters, Gladys Gray and husband, Eugene, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Betty Keffer of Oak Hill; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; nine nieces, 13 nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside rites and committal service will be on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Kincaid Cemetery in Kincaid, with Pastor Debbie Blevins Minor officiating. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.

Nephews, Joshua Keffer, Christopher Keffer, David Smith, Justin Keffer, Jackson Keffer, and Jeffery Keffer will serve as pallbearers.

Jimmy Dale ‘Jerry’ Poe

Jimmy Dale “Jerry” Poe, 61, a native of Welch, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, with the Revs. Diamond Carter and Bill Cresong officiating. Burial will follow in Sycamore Hill Cemetery, Staffords Branch section of Gilbert. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a special service will be at 7 p.m.
