Doris Stewart Browning

PINEVILLE — Doris Stewart Browning, 83, of Pineville passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Alene Morgan Harvey

FAIRLEA — Alene Morgan Harvey, 87, of Fairlea passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at The Brier Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Harvey was the last surviving member of her immediate family born to the union of the late Lundy and Louella Mann Morgan.

Alene was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church in Ronceverte, member of the Ladies Missionary Group of the Church, past member of the Business and Professional Women (BPW) and Fairlea Firemenettes. Mrs. Harvey had worked as a Secretary for the Ashford General Hospital, C & P Telephone Company and Aide’s Discount Store.

She is preceded in death by her husband Handley Ross Harvey, Sisters: Evalee Holley, Elmira Honaker, Blanche Simms, Lillian Morgan and Edna Morgan; Brothers: George and Raymond Morgan.

Those left to cherish Alene’s memory are her daughters: Sherry Tokarz and her husband Andrew of Sam Black, WV, and Jo Harvey Moellendick of Mt. Zion, WV; Grandchildren: Michael Tokarz of Akron, OH; Amber Price Fox and husband J.T. of Glenville, WV; Tyson Price and wife Britni of Glenville, WV; and Great-Grandson, Keaton Burch of Glenville, WV; along with several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harvey will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Timothy Dillon officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.

The family will receive their family and friends from 12 p.m. until time of the services on Tuesday.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Brier for their care and kindness shown Mrs. Harvey.

Berman Okey Lusk

KOPPERSTON ROAD — Berman Okey Lusk, 56, of Kopperston Road, passed away Saturday, March 9,  2013.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated following the services. Friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Eugene Lusk, 88, of Burlington, N.C., formerly of Herndon, died Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Tom Redford Massey

MINDEN — Tom Redford Massey, 87, of Minden, WV, died at his residence on Saturday, March 9, 2013, following a short illness.

Born February 22, 1926, at Cunard, WV, he was the son of the late Bill D. and Corby Rollins Massey.

Also preceding him in death were granddaughter Linda Sue Perry and seven sisters and four brothers.

He was a retired coal miner from Eastern Gas and Fuel at the Kopperston #2 mine, a member of the U.M.W.A., and a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer at Lynco, WV.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ethel Marie Shrewsbury Massey; two sons, Pastor Bill Massey and wife Ugonda of Lynco, WV, and John Massey of Oak Hill, WV; three daughters Betty Lester and husband Smokie of Brenton, WV, Rosie Nutter and husband Charles of Page, WV, and Judy Harless and husband Vince of Maple Fork, WV; and one sister, Grace Stover of Mt. Hope, WV. Also, ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 2 on Tuesday.

Harry L. Neal

GAYMONT MOUNTAIN — Harry L. “Bunny” Neal, 83, of Gaymont Mountain, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, following a long illness.

He was born April 11, 1929, at Victor and was the son of the late Hallie and Lottie Stine Neal.

He was a retired maintenance worker and was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church at Ansted.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Eva Neal and brothers: Billy, Raymond “Buster,” Nelson “Bud,” and Charles “Buck” Neal.

Survivors include 2 sisters: Freda Smith and her husband Tommy of Ripley and Maxine Ferrell and her husband Charles of Victor. A sister-in-law Jackie Neal of Gaymont Mountain, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Trinity Assembly of God Church, Ansted, with Pastor Michael Angelona officiating. Burial will follow at the McKinney Memorial Cemetery, Gaymont Mountain.

Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the services at the church.

Barbara Ann Selby, 67, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013.

According to her wishes, her body was cremated. There will be no services or visitation.

OAK HILL — Marjorie “Marge” Oiler Simms, 85, of Oak Hill, died Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

LORAIN, Ohio — Neil E. “Jack” Summers, 76, of Lorain, Ohio, a native of Winding Gulf, died Friday, March 8, 2013.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 11, in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 W. Erie Ave., Lorain, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the First Congregational Church, 423 Washington Ave. (at Fourth Street), Lorain, with the Rev. Karen Farthing officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
