Roy Lee Holliday

SMOOT — Roy Lee Holliday, 73, of Smoot, passed away at home Wednesday, February 6, 2013, following a sudden illness.

Born October 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Charles Leonard and Bertha Ellen Hizer Holliday. He was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Ralph and Sam Holliday.

Surviving are five brothers: Ernest “Pete” of Crichton, Curtis Carel of Smoot, Jim K. and wife Jean of River Rouqe, Mich., David E. and wife Doris of Sam Black Church and Neal Leo and wife Debby of Clintonville.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with his brother Neal Leo Holliday officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

Family and friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

SPEEDWAY — Billy Joe Keatley, 67, of Speedway, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

FAIRLEA — Helen Knotts, 81, of Fairlea, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Enon Baptist Church, Frankford. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg.

Irene Irma Bernath Rader

LANHAM, Md. — Irene Irma Bernath Rader, 84, of Lanham, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at her home.

Born December 16, 1928, at Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Kovach Bernath.

Mrs. Rader was a member of the Presbyterian faith and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Rader; five brothers, John, George, James, Steve and Joe Bernath, and sisters, Annie Gleason, Julia Pratt, Elizabeth Luke, Margaret Bryant and Helen Radford.

Survivors include her only daughter, Skip Boettcher and husband, Hank, of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; grandson, Anthony Pallozzi and wife, Charlene, of Odenton, Md.; two granddaughters, Wendy Corbino-Krzycki and husband, Tom, of Bowie, Md., and Kimberly Corbino of Bowie, Md.; sister, Martha McGoskey and husband, George, of Ravenswood; brother-in-law, Mickey Radford; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Jim Plyburn officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, on Friday, February 8, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m.
